one uncle at Chinatown point selling brand new (old stock) lenses for super bargain price!

There are 3 Tamron lenses on offer.
1. 28mm - 200mm,............S$50.00,
2. 28mm - 80mm...............S$50.00 &
3. 20mm - 40mm...............S$300.00 <Metal finishing>

I bought one today and thought it was a good bargain. the quality is ok.

I saw some one posting at Sony/Minolta sales site for $150? on that 28-200mm lens?

yes but with an a-mount adaptor and probably in manual focus only.

Just got one of it... solid construction, decent IQ... not very fantastic under low light though

based on what I can make out, it was probably manufactured around 2001... was meant to be used with film SLRs of that time

I just got one too.....It is a steal and good buy! Where on earth can anyone buy a brand new zoom lens with hood for only $50?

Moreover, the seller, Mr. Wong, is a nice and friendly man.

Although not as fast as one would like, an old lens, but think again, $50, where to get this kind lens with large hood/28-200m zoom?

i will use it as a spare and probably when my son is a little older, he will have this lens to toy around ($50 only mah).

Thats one really heavy toy to play with XD... its like twice the weight of my puny A55 body><

interestingly enough, that particular lens won some EISA award in 2000-2001... need to go do some research haha

it will work with the NEX - provided you get the NEX Amount adaptor... just no autofocus... aperture control is done by the adaptor similar to how other A-mount lens work...

yes its fotographix at chinatown point..

he even had an old stock but brand new full AF teleconverter for sony/minolta 1x1.4 which cost around $80.00 only which he says the AF would work on all lens types.. i didnt buy since i only bought enough to get the 28-200 tokina.

yea great guy. humble owner. was browsing rd the store and wow his collection is top notch. selling hasselblad n cz. mus say he's really a refreshing old school that works with a reservation's a reservation. he had to turn down walk ins and place the rest on waiting list. i got the 2nd last unit. the last unit was reserved too. thx for alerting us to this great deal TS.
