Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC. WOW

wow 960 for VC version.

If I am in the market for a new 17-50/2.8, at 800 I will get the Tamron VC one. At 960, I will skip it and get the sigma. 960 is 300 more than the non VC version.. that is 50% more ex. Too ex! :nono:

Well, you're getting another 2 years local warranty if you get it here... International only 1 year warranty according to the reply I got from our local distro. I guess it boils down whether you want to save the 180 for the 2 extra years warranty.

Anyway, whoever is interested, I take the lens out for a 2-hr shooting spree at Botanic Garden this morning. I used 70-200 on some of the pics but the landscape pics and the earlier DSC numbers are taken using this lens....

I don't see the point... it's almost as costly as the canon 17-55/2.8 IS. May as well pay a little more and get that ?

I agree! I was thinking for quite some time on whether to upgrade to 17-55 IS and i thought maybe the Tamron VC version would be a good and MUCH cheaper alternative ......I guess not really

Anyway canon's version is not out yet so maybe its cheaper than 960?? ;p

if the price more than $900 i think is better go to Malaysia to buy since they just sell about RM1900, and I do not care about the 2 years extra warranty given by Singapore local set.
(do you think $200 or more is worth for the warranty??)
