Tamron 17-50 2.8 non BIM non VC

I wanna buy too.. Is it brand new? How to buy?can we order together?

When I helped 3 frds to get the 17-50.. I tested all the copies in the shop only 1 or 2 is sharp.. As in no front or rear focus issue

that is funny.

I bought 3 tamron lenses and all were first copy I tried, and sharp out of the box.

:dunno::dunno:

And I have tried other tamron lenses, most of them are sharp.

Not sure about you, but my definition of "rare" might be different from yours.

I saw this lens offered by a Hong Kong seller at eBay for s$440.Is it safe to buy.Have anybody bought before ?? Rally attracted to that price...

ohhh hmm there is always a risk but u can always see the sellers ratings =D for that price its worth it IMO, in consideration that there is no warranty and PRAY hard that it does not break in delivery lol...

you can order to them by ebay and payment is by paypal.here's the link

Why I interested even though the warranty doesn't covers in Singapore ,this brand new item price is cheaper than the 2nd hand prices here...Here sellers are asking above $500 for the out of warranty lens

Last time I bought a 2nd hand Minolta lens from HK the packing was excellent

Sorry to hear that.

Well, I got a super sharp 17-50 at first try.
I also got a super sharp 28-75 at first try.
I also got a super sharp 90 at first try.

That is 3 out of 3 hole in ones. It is either I am very lucky or you are very unlucky.

I get slightly more problems with Sigmas.

;)

Hey guys,

Just wondering what the price for the non-VC version is in SG now? The tamron price guide hasn't been updated for a year+ already. Would it be better if I buy it through ebay instead? Dzone2 from hongkong is selling it at USD392 for the non-vc version.

The only thing that I'm worried about now after reading all these comments is that I'll be unlucky and get a non-sharp copy :(
Any tips/comments would be appreciated thanks :)

Buy at artworkphoto.. The non-vc is 530 brandnew and with VC is 620.. If i am not wrong.. Go check it out on their store.. I bought mine the non-VC for 500+
last june.

Did yours come with a local 3 year warranty? I know that buying a gray set from ebay would only come with a 1 year warranty. Realised the price difference is only about less than 100SGD, seems more wise to buy locally if it does come with the 3 year warranty.

By the way, was your tamron a good/sharp copy? :) Did you test it out at the shop before buying it? Thanks!

Yes, it comes with 3 years local warranty.. I must say its pretty da_n sharp! Whether its auto focus or manual its really sharp.. No regrets buying it..

U mean u bought at ArtWorkFoto with 3 years warranty?

I had a look at the website and it says you can only buy the lens at their brick and mortar shop. So it should come with a 3 year warrant :)
Hoping to get mine soon but still abit worried after reading all the comments about non-sharp copies :o

What's BIM non VC?

BIM= Built In Motor
this is for the nikon version becuase some Nikon bodies doesn't come with a autofocus motor, so the lens itself needs to have the BIM

VC= Vibration Compensation
this is the anti-shake function like the IS(canon), VR(nikon) & OS(sigma)

How much does a non-grey set costs? The tamron price guide hasn't been updated for a year already.
That's weird, snipshot said he bought it from artworkfoto but got a 3 year warranty :dunno:
