yeah agree, that is unresponsible people who keep ignoring 101 warning from smrt, to stand clear of the yellow line. Too bad this is not the first time people fall into mrt track

latest trend in committing suicide - jumping in to mrt tracks, and let the train go over u.
this trend has been over in hong kong last few years already. Lot of suicides happening there because economy pressure and also students doing O-Levels.
the solution was to put glass panels in almost every single station. now most of the mrt lines in hk are covered by those glass panels.
Hopefully singapore will implement this safety measurement soon.
Glass panels are used in some other mass transit rails in the world.
Sure, it is unsightly, and some cost involved, but it does takes care of the irresponsible people and probably provide some deterance towards saboteurs.

It is public funds that funds national development, including MRT, roads, etc.
The issue is what is "need" and what is a "want". For example (and only an example) a road to town is a 'need', but coating the road with gold (maybe to attract rich investors, or to please some few people) is perhaps a 'want'.
Edit: Thank goodness we don't have gold-coated roads.

The paper said the person "fallen" onto the track, but never tell u if it was unintentional (ie. accident) or intentional (ie. suicide). As u can see, they never use the word "jump", they will tell u someone fallen onto the track or hit by the train. But based on past records, most of them are suicide cases, just that the media prefer to keep this low profile.
in that case, how will glass door, barrier, fine and warning can help to stop pple from committing suicide?
if one day every one start to jump down from HDB flat, are we going to build glass panel along all corridors? that is not going to solve the root cause.
Just a Personal view and opinion. I might not be right. - The SMRT can prevent all this accidents by building doors. Would they be bother over it? Raise funds to built glass panel doors ??? I dont think is necessary because Singapore got 4 million of population. After deducting 1 million of elderly, 1 million of children and 1 million of car owners, we still balance 1 million of population taking MRT. If we talk abt a $1.20 fare X 2 ways = 2.4 million per day or 72 million per month. Government were concerns over the raise of GST would affect price raising of goods, they even ask PTE LTD not to look into profiteering but sadly to see that government controlled business is all revising their price very soon. "Hopefully" we can see some control situation here.

I think the best way is don't let these people interfere with the MRT operations, if somebody jumped off, then let the MRT train move then afterwards remove his/her body 
If there is not enough time to get all the body parts because another train is coming, then let the train pass then afterwards continue picking up his/her body parts
It may be rude, but it's no use to disrupt the MRT operations just to get the pieces of the man who in the first place did it to himself.
It's better for them to jump off HDB flats since no one will be disrupted to whatever they try to do to themselves.
