how much was the canon TC one?? 3rd party ones any issues??

Wow. Drroollz.

Don't mind me asking, how much did you get the Kenko 1.5x TC? How did you find it? I'm thinking of getting a TC and am finding Canon's 1.4 TC pricey and limited in the sense that it can only be used in selected lenses.

:Later,

OP at SLQ.... $200 around a year ago. :bsmilie:

Haiyah, shoot with whatever you have and crop later in computer if need be. Don't bother worrying if you need some 300mm, 400mm, 600mm just for this zoo outing.

There's always a better equipment for any occasion but any equipment that allows you to capture images will do the job just fine. Just don't forget to have fun in the zoo with the animals and your camera.

Considering that the Singapore Airshow is just around the corner, getting a TC now might be worth the money you spend. :-P

this may be a stupid question, but just wondering anybody tried this before. i am going to the zoo. the macro 100 f2.8 will be one of my lens, but was wondering is it possible to walk around with it... it is pretty long for far objects and the big apperture will blur what ever items are in the way.... so will this be practical?? also i can just go macro anytime i want?? opinions?

I think it ok... just dun try to take close up shot of the tiger...

This was taken using my len 70-300mm.

i own the 100mm f2.8 and from my experience it isnt enough. i recommend renting a 100-400mm for the zoo trip. since everyone is sharing their white tiger pics, here is mine, taken with the 100-400mm

200mm on crop. Just enough for framing the whole body, and clearly not enough for a headshot.

thanks all for the advice.. will try it out and let u guys know if 100 is enough will definitely go have fun.. on the bright side at least i still have a kit zoom lens :D

Hello everybody it is a long day but honestly 100mm macro is not enough.... 250 is still okie for certain type of animals but not all of them but there is alot of macro opportunitiess... so if u are going to take alot of animal pictures please at least get a 300... hahahaha just my humble opinion

For zoo pics, I've used mainly 400mm to capture most of the animals, 200mm is barely there, not to mention 100mm.

Here's my take on the white tiger, darling of all photographers :)
