Went down to TK Foto Technic at Funan:

Went there with my whole setup, approach a sale guy ( top wear spectacle senior citizen)
Ask about the specification, he just shoved me the catalogue.
Ask him abt my setup which he would recommend , he just showed me the N2205 tripod.
Ask whether can test the tripod with my setup, got a rude & sarcastic reply:
'No one come here to buy tripod and test the mounting' :thumbsd:

He can simply just answer ' Sorry cannot'

He sound like he is having PMS.

Is this the same TK foto shop in funan you guys referring?

Or has the standard of the customer service drop or just a sale guy attitude problem?

Very disappointing & just walk out off the shop.

Looks like you have meet the infamous grumpy old uncle. :D

Try asking for David or James next time you are there. Bought a couple of tripods from David a couple of years ago and I can still remember his patience in explaining the pros and cons of each of the models I was comparing. Price was also much lower than Cathay at that time.

I think this tall skinny old guy at TK dun provide much service. Ask questions, give yes or not, not too approachable. Encounter no only once, but twice. Even when there are lots of people, rest of the staff busy attending to customers, he will stand there like statue... so even if he is the only person available to serve you, avoid it or come back another time, unless u just want to buy something in mind and go.

:bsmilie: Think i know who you are talking abt.
He is one big slacker.

i got similar treatment last week when i went down to check out the sirui tripods. he was hovering behind me while me and my friend were looking at the tripods, so I assumed he was waiting for us to ask questions. turned around and ask him if there is the T1204 series since i don't see it, he waved his hands and said, "all there". Asked him what is the difference between T and N series, he turned around, grabbed a catalogue and say, "read yourself". Then turned and left. 5 minutes later, i tried asking someone else for help, the guy who answered me this time spent a good 20 minutes opening up the different tripods, explaining to me the difference and even went to the store to dig for a display set of the model of tripod I was looking for. Different pp, different kind of service bah.

That guy TS mentioned is Philip. Maybe I shall complain to Albert TK foto boss to sack him.

Orient photo & TK photo have the same price for Sirus tripod so not necessary go to TK.

The best thing is Orient photo can neg.

If he is statue, it is okay lor.
At least he won't open his big mouth.
Dun know how to lay eggs never mind dun **** around the place and damage the reputation of the shop lor
Just my luck

Look like the guy is the relative of the owner or wat lor, seems like everyone has bad experience dealing with this slacker & he is still working there.

Dun think there will be next time lor.
Unless the slacker is no longer there.

He also shoved me the catalogue and refused to say anything even when asked, so i left lor. Guess I met the same salesperson as TS.

Thats is why i paid more to buy from J 3:16 as samuel bothered to explain to me the tripod and how to set it up for a tripod newbie like me. I even i wanted a battery grip for 5D mkII but he guided me to realised i need a tripod more. And yes i needed a good tripod over batt grip.

End day is if u like to buy from a cheap shop, service is lacking. If u wish to pay more then u get better service.

However, in Singapore service industry is lacking in good service. It is never consistent and frustrating to walk in a shop and see a "dog faced"

After a long day work, i love to walk in and be greeted well and guided to a good purchase. Why will you walk into a shop if u never had that intention to buy.

The service in Singapore is so different compared to the states, which I came back from Nevada.

When I enter any shops there, the sales person would treat me very well, even for those lady sales person when I enter a boutique...

That's cos the states doesn't have any service charge but through tipping. Thus their service is thrice better than SG.

TS, next time if you shop at TK, look for James. James is the son of the boss, thus he handles very good public relations, whenever I enter his shop to buy a bag, he would patiently explain to me like how the padding is placed, special features.. And would suggest what bags I should get. For tripod, he even surveyed me whether what type of usage I go for like if I'm bringing overseas or for local use, and even suggested me which tripod I should get, deploy the legs, and show explain.

Another person you can look for is Ark. He is also a nice guy, quite a practical person.

I bought my T1204 from the most senior tall guy TS has encountered, maybe that day his mood is good, thus he still tried explain to me proactively.
I do notice he is quite on the bochap not friendly type. Usually, I will try check with others.

I encounter the same few times before from this uncle, so nowadays when i go TK i will try to avoid him, when he come to approach me i will say : "just take a look first" or i will directly approach other guy...

but strangely sometimes i see him very patience with some of the customers, and talk a lot...

If the item I want to buy is available in other shops, I will not step in to this shop. Yes, they offer reasonable price, but if need to endure the bad attitudes that the sales staff give, then sorry, I will ensure they will not earn a single cent from me. I thought 1st time I "sway", so never mind, second time same type of "I owe them $" attitude. End up I went to other shops where I feel more respected as a person, not only as a customer.

The service of this shop is really :thumbsd::thumbsd:

Hope the staffs and owner visit this forum and take a look at the few threads that have discussions on their attitudes.

I never had any problem with the uncle at TK foto, may he is just having a moody day.
I remember buying mine current tripod from him and instead of selling me a more expensive model, he recommended me a more affordable one after he know about mine set up:thumbsup:
Now still happily using this tripod!
Give the man a chance, customer service is never easy!

My experience is with the Uncle and another younger man. So it is not only the uncle, I'm afraid. :thumbsd:
