Switching to Nikon

expensive in term of the price now compared before D800 released.and for that price i feel expensive for 2008 Released camera

do you mind sharing which business that has very good ROI..I do 2-3 weddings and 4-8 preweddings per month as being a phographer is not my main occupation.

If you do 2-3 weddings and 4-8 pre-weds a month, and you still need 8 months to break even on a 5k camera body, you really need to re-think your pricing and profit margin... maybe spending that much on a camera body might not be the best idea.

A good ROI will be to break even on a camera body purchase within the first 3 weddings you shoot. Everything else will be pure profit.

Well.. a brand new D700 can be had for a steal nowadays, if you know where to look...

I may be wrong but I think the colour seems more vibrant in the D7000 vs D800

If I didn't know the models, I would hav prefer the first pic (in terms of colours only.. 2nd pic is slightly under compared to 1st) ! hahah

For example here on D800 vs D7000 higher ISO 6400 Setting,
May help decide which one to go, or either stay back on Canon 5d2.

I disagree with the claims for wedding photography with D800. Shot two weddings using this new baby and I think it does reasonably well with it's D700 counter part which works hand in hand during the entire wedding.

It will do even better for indoor/outdoor portrait and landscape. It's still the photographer, not the tool. If you machine gun ur way thr the entire wedding, then D800 is not for you..

But u got to admit for a semi-pro camera, its fps is rather disappointing especially if u compare to D700 (sorry I dun own it) or even a D300 (which I hav). Especially if u want to capture that 'moment'.. I would goto my D300 for tt. But having said that, amidst other issues, the D800 is a great camera!

Well, the FPS has its reasons, 3 times the megapixel of D700 with 80% of the speed. Speed is usually not the best measurement of the quality of pro bodies.

For weddings, I find 3-4 fps is all that is necessary. And you fire in bursts of 2 or 3 shots. Even on the D700 I am constantly only using C-L set at 4fps.

If full time wedding photographer they don't mind using D200/D300 still in the markets everywhere.

Once you get more rich an everything stuff going to budget on spend for extra accessories and shutter life's with speed light etc..

If more expansive to engage just only using D3 in time..all the rest have to invest pro lens needed.

Everything is just depend your Packaged of offered, if can someone pay you more than $3k per each time, why not going for D4?
