Superzoom or Mirrorless

For your info, Cathay photo is clearing the NEX-F3 at very attractive price, less than $600.... left 1 set only. Go get it! I bought the 2nd last set.

There is a huge difference between superzooms and mirrorless cams. The quality of mirrorless will always be significantly better on account of the much much larger sensor size.

In fact, you would not be downgrading by going from DSLR to mirrorless. The sensor sizes are similar and therefore you should get equivalent image quality.

there is NEXF3 Y kit found only in airport departure hall
with 2 lens, standard 18-55 and tele 55-210, clearing under $900.
I think quite good deal for a mirrorless and zoom

How to get into the Departure Hall without a boarding pass? Cheaper there cos no GST $900 x 7% = $63 :)

Usual recommended shops are much cheaper than that...

You can shop tax free at the electronics store at Terminal 3 Level 3.

Why manufacturer can give you a super zoom at low price?
Answer: The sensor is small.

For example, in a typical super zoom already being sold, the sensor size is a minute one that is 30 times smaller than a full frame sensor.

The image quality will be low due to small sensor.

The super zoom lens requires many compromises in optics design. You will have lousy optical performance.

Say I've decided on micro 4/3. I've shortlisted some models but I need more user reviews and opinions.

I read that the Sony Nex F3 and Nex 3N spot similar features while just a difference in size and screen. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Right now I'm comparing either F3/3N to Olympus EPM-2. Any reviews on either of these camera?
The key difference to me are basically the tilted screen vs touch screen. Other differences are minor to me. Tilted screen is a nice feature to have for self portrait while touch screen is good for focusing.

Any idea of the prices of the above three mentioned cameras?

Yes, only minor changes/improvements from F3 to 3N.

And no, they are not micro 4/3. Stop insulting the NEX, ppl!

Well, they are not m4/3 cameras for a start. Mirrorless does not equal m4/3.

Alright alright but anyway I'm referring to the Sony Nex cameras.

Yup, those are not m4/3s. ;-)

Well, the image quality on all the nex cameras is pretty good - so it really does just depend on which features are more important to you
