Dear All,
Just to alert all that sunsniper strap with the steel insert may have problem with the steel insert breaking at various point making the steel wire prickly along the length of the strap. The strap I have is still useable and should not snap but I have to be careful not to run my hand along the strap or I might get pricked by the broken wire sticking out.

On a few occassion I have also found the screw getting loose so I have to check that it is fully screwed in every now and then....

Seems to be a known issue with the BlackRapid straps too

Put a screwdriver through the hole, BR or SunS and you'll see that you can tighten it lots more than possible w ur fingers..

I'm using the pro strap, the one without the carabiner, and it seems sturdy enough. Doesn't look or feel like it's going to start fraying anytime soon. The screw hasn't come loose on me either... I'm extremely happy with it but I still do check back once in awhile because of my insecure nature when it comes to things hanging off me or in my pockets. :D I'm using it without any sort of failsafe too

So finally it becomes clear that the steel "failsafe" wire will break too. What a pity.

I think Blackrapid has an outstanding lawsuit against the company who is selling Sunsniper.

Ya, the strap is barely a few months old, just that the steel is not broken or snapped entirely, it breaks a bit here and there, making it prickly.

I have written to them demanding an explaination.

....exterior is fine but the steel insert is the problem, I am trying to alert all that you guys might want to avoid the steel insert versions.

I do hope it's a one off thing... It's waayyy too expensive to give this type of problems -.-

I was about to buy when I see this thread .. Haiz

Given the number of sets they've been selling compared to the ones with problems... This is like one in a million... Unless you hear people complaining about it all the time I don't find it a real problem I guess. Every product is bound to have some QC problems no matter how much they check.

It will not be a problem if they are willing to swap a new piece for you. Does it comes with warranty? Is RDP the distro for this strap?

I myself been using till nw fr two weeks so far no problem given from the strap and still enjoy using it. Maybe I'm nt that million one. ;-)

I have written to them, They have requested for photos of the defects, I do not have Mcro lens with me so I scanned in the strap, will try to get better photos if that is not good enough for them....I doubt its a one in a million issue, if the wires on mine breaks up, it should occur on yours soon.

Only time will tell...

They commented that my issue is highly unusual and are investigating, they also asked for my invoice, but unfortunately I do not have. They have not got back yet after the last email 2 days ago.
