Can't wake up early enough to take sunrise, so I settle for sunset instead..
Pls comment.. and do let me know how to improve on it.. :dunno:

Hi , IMHO your second shot( with peoples) is a better shot but both are too glaring.
I think using center metering or spot metering could helps. meter nearby the bright sunlight.
Don't I comment hor.

Be careful not to look at the sun when you spot meter it.

Another way is to -2 Ev. BTW, is that place hazy?

Btw, I heard about the dangers. But I did try a few time doing it and the result was good to me. What r some of the dangers? :dunno:
 

nice:) but the sun abit too glaring, like some explosion.

i missed the sunset when i was there...but caught the sunrise, very nice.

thanks hosea for ur advice.. i metered on the nearest apostle.. maybe i should have dodged the sun.. or i should go 1 or 2 stops lower?? hmmm... :dunno:

yup it was damn hazy that day... :)

Haven't been there, so don't know the physical constraints.

Don't know if there will be access problem.... for this condition, it's best to catch the apostles in the diffusing glow of the sunset. Not in the shadows.

If you want to shoot the shadows, maybe can get a much lower perspective and shoot the sun peeking out from behind one of them.

i see.. same here.. unhappy with the sun.. i think its overexposed...

cool.. perhaps ur friend prefers the bluish effect? anyway photography is very subjective isnt it? :think:
