thanks for starting the ball rolling Alan. i hope u all learnt some stuff about shooting and processing...
i was thinking if we should start a thread at the other section, but since its gonna be quite short I guess it should be fine if we just post here? :dunno:

anyway, the processing part can be found easily online (on youtube). if you guys need more help, can just google stuff like "digital blending". there may be many different ways to do it, but the aim is the same.

these are the two that i shot.

by the way, some of you may find that its abit lame to buy the softwares since you are not editing these stuff always, then maybe you can just do minor contrast or exposure adjustments using the softwares that come with your camera. alternatively, you can try trial versions of different softwares when you have stuff to edit :bsmilie:

there are quite a few softwares out there that work like lightroom,
for mac there is Aperture
others there is Phase One Capture One
DXO Optics Pro

if you want to work with layers, you can try downloading GIMP.
its free and allows you to use layers for editing as well

Thank you very much for sharing on some of the techniques.

Nice shot Mralan!

Wow! So nice. Thanx for sharing Shiosaki. You are the best!

Thank you Shiosaki (GX) for organising the outing. Your kind sharing of techniques is also very much appreciated. :)

true.... as it has always been said in this forum, the person behind the lens is more important than the camera setup itself, but seeing nice shots being captured on a small sensor (crop sensor, which most of us r in this outing) motivates one to try harder to produce better pics before buying more n more n more. This would help control Gear acqusition syndrome! The following list is for reference to the pics posted only.

1) Shiosaki (GX): Pentax K30 w/ sigma 10-20
2) Miralan (Alan): Olympus M43 OMD camera
3) blueblood (Tien ?): look like a nikon D800?
4) User name? (Raymond): Canon 7D w/ ?
5) teck4300 (Darren): canon 600D w/ 17-40
6) fiqabil (Rahim): Nikon D7000.
7) Ignatius: Canon 600D w/ Tokina 11-16
8) user name? (LYH): the guy with black specs? Nikon?
