the 35mm on LX3 is also very nice.. ask Akerue la.. used his 35mm f1.4 la.. so smooth, so simple, so bokeh, so fitting, so swee... (this one bite or not?)

The 50mm will give a more natural perspective, and it will be a good portrait length on an APS-C (cropped) sensor.
50mm is DX lens means can use on both crop & FF body, but 30mm only for crop body. (DC lens)

The 50mm is thought of as the "classic" focal length is because it's very natural to what your eye naturally see's.
