saw your thread/post in the Travel Photography section :)

The word here is BEING SENSITIVE and knowing LIMITS... work within boundaries and dont be offensive.. I dont want to go into right or wrong issue.. right or wrong occassion, use of this or that.. etc...

I personally do feel it is impt to work within boundaries.. If there is discomfort.. you have to step off, you cant do a good human subject shoot without your subject being involved and trusting.. which is why I spend time with most of my subjects.. (whenever possible, today it was either subject or family members of the subject).. which is also why I got to learn more about the hindu religion, weight of the kavadi, size of lime, why milk, etc.. which I guess it is also why i got offered fruits together with family members, which is also why I got email address to send pictures, etc..

wah they offered you fruits?

wah they offered you fruits?
Fruits shared within the family members (not sure iif they were after prayers..) A pear.. but a very sweet pear.. from the family that got the first kavadi out of the temple this morning.. the very traditional kavadi type..

It is the kind of things that you cannot say no too as well.. it will be offensive to reject or not to eat.. (I think).. luckily, i free-thinker..

Lol no wonder... Haha... ;) no good response to that thread though... :(

It's a less-travelled to country, so I'm not surprised that the response is lower, unlike a Taiwan/Bangkok/USA thread.
But you like going off the beaten path don't you? :)
I would be so apprehensive abt going to India. sigh... gotten too used to city comforts liao.

BD - I cant find the thread that ZCA mentioned you posted.. I have been to the city areas (mumbai, bangalore, new delhi) as part of work (very short trip) + soem free time to wonder around, so not sure if there is any additional information that that I can provide for you.

Bro I like to go places to WAKE UP from city comforts :) India is a beautiful place with beautiful people.. (most places I visited, I also have very good experiences)...

I did walk from "Gateway of India" to "Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus" and that terrorist incident brought back some feelings.. :( Other places, I either walk or take autorickshaws.. Look out of place but feel very warm inside.. didn't feel frighten or threaten.. overall ..
