[SunChasersSG] - sunrise outing, Lwr Seletar, 10Jul

i've survived without a bubble leveller so far :D hehehehe... It certainly helps though.
I turn on the gridlines in my viewfinder and use them to help align my horizon.

Somehow I think gridlines quite difficult to use for Mrs. She did activate gridlines, but still dont get the horizon align. Think i need to get leveller for her ... most of her pics were align with the bridge ... lol :bsmilie:

Yah lar, tats why i emphasize with the group the importance of a spirit bubble leveller..
Depends on ur expectations, it can be as cheap as $10 to $50 :)

Next time i see yall, better have one on ur hotshoe arh..haa

the bridge (I'm assuming you are referring to the new structure) is supposed to be horizontal, but because the left side is closer to the camera than the right (out in the water), it introduces.... I think the term is horizontal perspective distortion... There was a big discussion about this after Kit's outing to Helix, I remember...
Left is nearer, right is further, so even though it's horizontal, it looks tilted.

Yeah... get the MANFROTTOspirit leveller

Thats correct bro.. What's nearer to the focal plane with WA will appear more distorted than far away subjects.. btw.. Kit got organize outing to Helix meh???:dunno:

And ur right, get the Manfrotto one~!! I never see u have one urself.. :nono: lol :bsmilie:

:)

Oh wow... nice colours you got there :)
where did you guys shoot from? Looks like from the new jetty.
Tks for sharing!!

The golf course looks kinda dark though. Because it's not a clearly defined silhouette, it tends to look rather "messy".

Jialat.. hooked with B&W recently...

Here's on reprocessed.. C&C pls... hee..

nicely done bro! You even managed to capture the rocks below the water surface!

Got some nitpicks..... ready?
1) there seems to be some sort of horizon tilt. Don't know if it's due to lens distortion, or 'optical illusion' from the different distances of the shrelines. But when I first glanced at the photo it looked tilted to me.

2) Once you go into B&W then the trees at the left become more noticeable as a big black patch. A bit disconcerting, but I don't have any suggestion on what can be done. Maybe going closer to the jetty? hmmmm

Actually it is level. The land mass/shore on the right side of the frame is closer, giving it a tilted feeling. And the mist on the water didn't help either. I had the same problem when looking at my pics but later realized it is an optical illusion.

Thanks Bro.

Discomfort in viewing those black patches. Kinda agreed after u see it over and over again.. Thought might as well just leave for a more "complete" framing. Maybe can try a different crop to isolate the jetty, cut off the trees..

1) seems perfectly fine with me leh.. mus take out ruler liao.. :sweatsm:

just my thought..crop away the trees on the left and right, then maybe go square? :)

i think i saw you guys when I ran to the toilet :D

The group at the carpark as we were leaving was more silver-haired... :) There were about 10 of them just as a rough guess.
