summarit 50mm f1.5 owners

my suggest is to use the step up or down ring. The original filter is very difficult to find, although u may still see some on ebay from time to time, . most with a very high price tag.

yup.... even the leica light yellow filter cost me $80 usd... :|

Hi bro. after commented , i brought a 41 to 46mm with a round hood.

total less than 30 bucks.

better than getting the original hood I feel.

I have the original yellow filter but i use a 41-46 step up instead. Reason is the original leitz filter is not a screw in filter, all you do is push it in and rotate to 'lock' it. However it is not really locked , more of just going into a slot. It happened to me couple of times the filter fell loose. So i decided to keep it well in its original box but in the dry cabin.

The 41-46 step up will fit the XOONS hood nicely, so it wont be visible from outside. However, due to its size, will have to remove the stepup ring to unmount the XOONS. Maybe a 41-40.5 adapter will solve the problem. Not an issue to me. Changing of filter is fine.

Hope this helps!

Got a question for you. Hope you can help me.

Since this lens is using 41mm thread size and its near impossible to buy filters of this thread size... which filter are u using now?

I did some research... there is this Tiffen filters (quite rare though). But I am wondering if B+W 40.5mm filters can fit to this lens since there is 0.5mm difference?

Such a nice condition 50mm Summarit deserves an original E41 filter...now available in HKLFC...do act fast...
