Hi all,

Am planning to migrate over to a underwater video setup. Any recommendations? Hope not to invest too much as beginners.3-CCD or 3-CMOS new or second hand set?

Was told the best is with a manual white balance function. However, some only offers direct record even like the higher end sea and sea or sony ones.

Any suggestions?

:)

What does "direct record" mean? I'd have thought that any 3-CCD cam will allow you to set the white balance manually.

HI,

sorry...it is meant to be direct recording...haha..well...what I meant is the constrain on the U/W housing that even the sea n sea does not have this manual function. It is those like customized ones or higher end provides.

Sorry for the mis-com

Hi malcolm. So the direct recording is a feature of the housing? You mentioned it together with manual white balance which is definitely a camera feature. That's why I was confused (I think )

HI,

well, in a way. TO further elaborate....it is the manual button on the camcorder itself. But what I meant is a feature either electronic or mechanical control to allow a direct switch to activate the camcorder's white balance.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I know nuts about underwater gear. :)
