Hi Guys! If you had only two lenses to bring to a wedding shoot what would they be and why?
What do you think are the advantags/disadvantages of using the 5D, as opposed to the 7D, in a wedding shoot?

17-35mm & 28-75mm nothing else but if got 50mm marco will be great..

I second Geno, except no need to bring 50mm macro. I don't see a need for that. 28-75 can take good enough close up for the close up shots.

I agree with Colin. The 28-75 can be used to take close ups.

I would recommend bringing along a 50 1.4/1.7, or some other wide aperture lense < f/2.8, for shallow DOF. Your best shot for the event would most likely come from such a lense and not the 17-35 or the 28-75. Provided you have time to use it.

I don't see any diff using either 5D or 7D. performance from both cams are the same.

Just shoot a wedding yesterday...

Here is what I use...

Sigma 15-30 f3.5-4.5
Minolta 50mm f1.4
Minolta 80-200 f2.8 APO G HS.

Of course with 5600HS flash...

I love the HSS function which I can push the flash to 1/1500sec @ f5.6 to balance with the ambient light. However, I need to be quite close to the subject...

Anyway... good luck...

Hiee Pals....

Just to share a shot that i took with a light setup with my 7D....handhold...AS on.
Just 7D + lens...

I just used ISO 400 and the on board flash and see how far the setup can go....
Hahh.....i was surprised.....its really usable...- comparing to the EOS 1D setup the official photog was using.....hahah...mine's a pea..

Anyway...I'm happy that the photos from afar look okay too..

Lens recommended for wedding...

I would like to share some examples of how I use the lenses I suggested.

Closes up with 28-75.

Big aperture lenses to play with shallow DOF.

And 17-35 for everything else.

Nope, I'm not. Just shooting for my friends as favours.
