The casino in Monaco requires jacket and tie. And the enterence fee is 25 euro if I remember correctly.

Have you thought about driving? There are 2 roads, both along the cliff behind Monaco, one in the middle of the cliff/hill and one on the ridge, spectacular view of the French Riveria. With car you can visit more places.

No bags and cameras allowed into the casino too if i remember..... and if u deposit ur stuff at the counter... they ask for a tip... haha... everything also $$.. i'm sure they are prospering... :)

If you wanna go to both Nice and Monaco... should stay in Nice and take a day tour to Monaco... Can visit the palace and there's an aquarium there, casinos, alot of nice cars...

In Nice, the museums are FOC on certain days... correct me if i'm wrong... sundays or every first sunday or something like tat... other then that..

When I stayed in a 3 star hotel in Nice... and it was yucks! My two stars Paris hotel was cleaner (though smaller)... Enjoy your trip... and oh... be watchful of ur belongings in France... :)

i dunno if its on the way but i went to coldmar like 10 years ago and it was a beatiful place. worth visiting. the outdoor restuarant that i had lunch served great food and great ambience. its like going back in time a few hundred years....lovely place

If you like outdoors and want off the beaten track, - visit my favourite village Moustiers in Verdon Gorge (a drive from Nice) http://www.locations-moustiers.com/gorges_du_verdon/gorgesduverdon.htm

I went in May time and the village Moustiers was the most spectacular village I've seen. The photos on the URL I've given you don't do the place justice. Imagine a village with a mountain backdrop of hues of pink, orange, blue, grey..etc and a waterfall diving right through it. Take a photo by the petrol station - we came when the sun was setting and failed to take a spectacular shot. The village itself is fanscinating with climbing roses and gushing side lanes of water for drinking as well as walking over.

Go up to the church and have a walk about - look for a couple of hidden coves. Great view of the village roof tops .

The gorge itself is called the mini grand canyon and has adventure treks (may get your feet wet), white water rafting, rock climbing but again loads of great natural shots here.
