Suggest where to buy Pentax K-x

Hmm... i was at Alan photo at Funan too.... asked for the Pentax K-X(white), but was told sold out liao... HaiiZzz... Anyways, this would be my 1st DSLR and i told the salesman... and he started telling me about how Pentax is no good if i'm getting my 1st DSLR and i shld get a C or N for long term purpose...
After the talk with the salesman... he's really gotten me all confused and unsure what to get liaoZzz.... HaiiZzz... any seniors here to reaffirm that KX is a better choice compared to C or N

gutted! My friend just bought me the white + 50-200 for 1130 from Manly.
Can anyone please please confirm if there is none/yes dual lens kit for white or red in Singapore?
Already bought the camera, but just wanna know haha.

Normally they don't sell the coloured k-x with dual kit lens unless you buy the single lens kit + the other lens , which obviously costs more ...

You get a full featured DSLR for $790. Better high ISO noise reduction that many cameras a few hundred $$ more expensive. Top that up with built in shake reduction to use on every lens you can mount on the camera. Add to this topping the fact that you can use all lenses made by pentax through its history (at cheap 2nd hand prices) and arguably the best lens coating (SMC). What more to ponder over?

That is why my friend got me 1130$: 782$ for body +18-55, 438$ for 50-200
It is 900$ for this dual lens kit in black lol, so it is 230$ more just to get white T.T But if I like it, I will take it out more. Be proud and take care of it more etc., so I think it worths the money to get white.
However, just wonder if there is dual lens kit for White and Red, like The Navy Blue, which confirmed have haha, even thought already bought the non-dual lens kit White

See Pinhole's comments. I 2nd his comments as Pentax has been longer in the market but although DSLR came later, we can and have many older lenses to choose from.
Many C owners also use our Pentax lenses . . .via adapters or by cutting and modifying the K-mount of the Pentax lenses to fit into Canon DSLRs . . .
So it shows that Pentax has better glass than C

Canon DSLRs have a larger registration distance to the film plane so it is easy enough to fit adapters for lenses of different makes.
People cut up and modify Pentax lenses is because they are cheaper and thus less painful on the wallet when modding.
Please lah, all camera companies got good lenses and not so good lenses.

I had wanted to cover OSIM, but the outing was at the zoo.

That's why I had to excuse myself from the zoo shoot in the morning. I think the majority wanted to shoot animals with long lenses rather than a sporting event (action). Also the very early start plus quite a lot of age group categories might have made it difficult to get everybody to meet together.
I was there last saturday only... sianZzz... Anyways, i was at SLS Bally and they told me they got stock for Pentax K-X(white) and he quoted me $690... a little suspicious leh... so i didnt really pursue further... Maybe some expert might like to go recce on this lead i chance upon?!

Still pondering on your advise and comments... will definitely go about doing more research and brainstorming... Budget wise definitely swaying towards the Pentax...
haha. don't fall for the bally. they quoted me $750 for the K-x white kit. den later they infront of u call ppl ask for stock. den say no stock. ask you wan K-x white kit with 55-200 ma. den quote u ridiculous price.

Never never go and buy anything from Bally's unless you know the pricing of every accessory you will need.
$690.00 + 7% GST is about $742.00 and then you will "need this and this and this " and by the time you come out of the smokescreen, almost $1000.00
yea... i tot so too... i totally smelt the fishes from the guy... when he say $690... This Bally sounds like a black store ah... I still remb the guy juz walk behind to the office... within 15secs he came out and tell me got stock: White K-X single lens kit at $690... too good to be true... so i just walked off... haha...
1 lesson i've learnt in life... is never trust quotes which are wayway below market price...

Btw note to all guys, I got mine at around March. But I really wish to tell you all that I was very pleased with Alan Photo (funan).
The Story
Before I went to buy my camera, i did some homework and heard that SLR Rev (both price and service) very good.
When I was there, I went to both AP and SLR Rev and I was really disappointed with SLR Rev. The person did not seem to bother about me. I think he was reading his newspaper or something. But when I was at AP, the auntie there made me feel very welcome. She even lowered the price than her original quote when i mentioned that there was another shop with a lower price for the kx. She lowered her quote to match the prices. She gave me a screen protector and orientated me through the camera. There were some other details but these are the main points.
