I believed someone mentioned about having a subforum in the BnS for RF and MF cameras?
Did anyone talked to the mods about it? The older cameras are getting buried in the sea of digital electronics. I almost always have to use the search function to find old cams.;p

Personally, I find that's it's OK to share the same thread. This way, the younger generations might have a chance to look at the wonderful classic stuff we have. And classic folks will also get a chance to view the megapixels war going on...

Using the search function is pretty helpful most of the time. It's better to see & search through a busy forum than one with only 1 post a month. :)

The market here is too small for classic (RF & MF) stuff nowadays. Need to win over those folks who have gone over to the dark side. Or maybe with M8, things will start to change??? :bsmilie:

Isn't the M8 already the dark side?

I agree. When I signed up for my school's photography club, they asked me what cameras I used. I said rangefinder and they were stunned for a while.

hahah
and then what happened? :p

I mentioned I used an SLR as well. And the heavens opened and they saw the light!

I think I'm going to stand out a bit there. ;)

In lieu of a seperate B&S forum, why not we obtain permission to sell the classic cameras right here? Or would it be too messy?

Ah standard Singaporean photography clubs...

bit off thread, but since on the topic of selling,
how come no one organises those camera only flea marts as in europe?
get those wonderful vintage cams on display for sale and exchange of knowledge.

Hey, I'm starting to like taking picture using film...

Hi tribal snake... mind sharing which countries in europe have those cameras-only flea markets that u mentioned?

they do swap meets in the uk once in a while but they're never really that cheap. U do get a shot at some really rare stuff though, taylor and hobsons and reids.....

taylor and hobsons and reids????
interesting... very interesting.....

I suspect it would be Minoltas, Canons and Nikons in singapore, but yea, a camera meet + flea market would be really cool!

have seen flea marts in germany, czech, italy and austria.
i miss the uk one due to train schedule.

u get good prices for old stuff, really old stuff. but to be honest, i dun see ppl buying, more browsing. but there is really good exchange of knowledge.

and i believe that if one is organise here in sg, the response might be good.
