mixed lighting - sunset tones predominantly oranges and very warms , the flash is probably un gelled or insufficient color gelled .

the direction of lighting also may not totally be flattering for women, being more at the side and resulting in high contrast across the subjects face.

Yup, no gel around to stick on the flash light, otherwise would be much smoother, but I disagree on the direction of the flash, I don't like the rather direct facing of light source, side light makes the features more outstanding, but I guess different taste here.
