You can also mix the studio light with natural light to create the effects. The indoor shooting area is 14ftx26ft, ceiling height is 10ft. Available for rent. Book early if you want to rent during the Christmas /New Year season holidays.

does your studio comes with mannequins(maybe, 1 male, 1 female) with wigs. For working on lightings.

Sorry we have no mannequins at this moment. If there is a good demand, then we will consider to buy some mannequins in future.

Available for rent. Book early if you want to rent during the Chinese New Year / Hari Raya season holidays.

I have used the SAFRA BM studio before. Space a little limited. And quite a bit of restriction.

You gear and your props seems OK. I like combo of natural light and studio.

Is it airconed? What about 2 hrs rent for 50 bucks? and those models you have, how much for 2 hours.

One more question, any nude models? Please PM me.

BTW, is your studio the first one run on a commercial basis? and what about using in the evening, say 7:30 to 9:30 or so. Cheers!

IN my last session at BM, I tried to use my Oly C4000 digicam on manual to shoot. Used built-in flash to trigger the studio slaves. Slaves fired, but not registered by the digicam! Very puzzling. Some said tht it is due to the pre-flash. But, in manual mode, and flash set to +1, still not working!

Wonder if you have any clue. I gave up and went back to Nikon film SLR, after wasting almost an hour on the digicam. Cheers!

smallaperture,
My studio is full air-con, even the kitchen also got air-con, very comfortable.
We charge $120 for 4 hours, sorry that is the very minimum, I believe its cheapest for what we offer in space & equipment. Some other photogs who rented it with a group to share the cost, maybe you can consider.
I dont know what kind of models you need, the range can be from few hundred $ to 1k $, thats why I also organize group photo shoot so that everyone share the cost and have the chance to shoot.
You can rent it anytime, 12am-12pm-12am, round the clock, you can even sleep inside, just pay me $120 for 4 hours or $200 for whole day.
Regarding your Oly C4000 problem, does it have M(manual) mode? And what shutter speed did you use in the studio? The pre-flash is one of the problem, but then there may be other problems, such as a loose cable, incorrect sync speed etc.

hi small aperture,

This is very simple question lah. You cannot use built in flash on your camera(although in manual mode) to trigger the slaves as it only syncs with the camera shutter not the slave unit. You need a infra red trigger/radio transmitter to trigger those slaves. Slaves is sensitive to flash trigger but it does not sync with on board/built in flash unit. You need a cable/infra red/radio transmitter to be able to sync with studio flash units.

U can use any digicams to trigger the flash if the camera has a built-in horse shoe units on the camera or sync terminal which is widely available in most DSLR/SLRs. The only problem with some consumer digicams is since CCDs sensitivity is greater than a film, you may tend to over expose the photos if you manage to get the studio lights sync with your digicam. Unless you have greater control on the aperture like DSLR/Pro Consumer Digicams (Sony F828, F-717, Olympus 5050/5060, Olympus E-1/10 and etc) you may want consider SLR for now. Your C-4000 does not have a bulit-in horse shoe unit or sync terminal, so you cannot use it at all.

Hope that answer your question. If you need any help, PM me lah.

Thank you.

Godzilla and Astin,

Thanks for the replies and the offer of help. Anyhow, I now realise that any sophisticated digicams cannot be used for serious photography. Flash sync is one problem. Min aperture is only F11, so if you need F13, F16 or F19, you're left in the cold. So, this Oly C4000 is a 790 bucks lesson in digital photography, even though it opens me to the world of digital pix taking. Learnt quite a bit like start up time and shutter lags and other idiosyncrasies.

So, now, I stick to my trusty F80 for serious shots and leave the digicams for snap shots and those that need immediate results.

Cheers!

Astin, please PM me if you organise any group studio shootouts in the near future.

Allan, I suggest you post a pix or 2 of the model for the swimsuit model shoot on Sat so that we know what we are in for.

It's like what you see is what you'll get!
