Thanks for the like Shizuma... I took your advice and shot with a smaller aperture instead of sticking to f2.8 all the time. It gave me more to think about and my photos were generally more focused. And yeah, the sweet spot seems to be at the f7.1 at around 40 to 50mm zoom for the Tamron Lens.

SFP InfoPhotoWalk with Billy and Clubsnap Members at Bugis

Today was the first time I took part in a gathering organized via Clubsnap. Massive turnout and lotsa experienced photographers around. I managed to capture some moments that resonated with me.

#30 - Centre of Attention : This kid had the most charming of expressions when I saw him thru my viewfinder. The added elements of the elderly men all looking at him made it an interesting shot to capture.

#31 Siesta : This old man was all stretched out in his own corner and taking a nap without a care for the world. He was the subject of many CSers' attention. But I doubt if he cared.

#32 Prayer : Many people stopped by this Hindu temple with their prayers and some offerings. I waited for a long time before the crowd thinned and I could get a good symmetrical shot without much human traffic. This was the closest I got.

#33 I spy... : While the grouped stopped to take photos at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, i saw this passer-by look into the compound with much curiosity. Im glad I caught him looking at me. His eyes tell me he is smiling.

It was an unusual wall accessory placed at the top of the door frame of this walk-up apartment. Not your typical welcoming feature!

While at Tiong Bahru market, I came across a pair of ladies so enthusiastic for having met after a long time. One of the ladies (in the blue dress) had a very charming smile. here is a tribute to friendship.

At Serangoon Road, I spotted these two individuals communicating through a slit in the door. It reminded me of the countless movies where you need to offer the doorkeep the password or a bribe to get in. Or in this case, to get out?

At Chinatown. Old skool cobbler selling soles from his portable office. I wonder if he gets much business these days. A hipshot (using the articulated screen on liveview of the 650d) helped me capture him head on from the perspective I wanted.

I have often wondered where photographers or artists get their inspiration for this random scenes of everyday objects/still-life that may end up on the back of a postcard for the world to admire. Here is one such scene I chanced Seemingly left without specific purpose along a wall of shophouses, this scene could really be from anywhere in the world.

#44 - Boss - Though/On the Window

While walking thru Chinatown, I came across this migrant worker who was waiting by the side of the road. His reflection posed an interesting interpretation. It looked like his was in the office taking a breather and stretching himself. It will be part of my series on Reflections.

Take 12 > From several days ago. This was the longest I've been out shooting in a day. But resulted in the fewest photos that I am happy with. This was cos I was very particular about the framing of the shot and the composing of the image. I tried to make sure that the background behind the subject was always free from elements of distraction. And as far as possible, I tried to ensure that each shot had a few of the 5 factors that capture the attention of the eye.

#45 - SuperPower Nap.

How can anyone resist taking a photo of a super hero taking a nap at our very own Hong Lim Park? Must have been an eventful night of crime-fighting to result in the man of steel stopping by at sunny Singapore.

While walking through Chinatown, I looked up and saw.... Lines. I loved how all the lines including the man were neatly aligned in two specific orientations. And so I clicked.

This little girl was in her stroller kept her eyes trained on me for quite a while. that cute little furrowing of her forehead and the contrasting colours presented a photoworthy opportunity. I should have done more to include the light to add more to the scene, but I didn't know how to.

#49 - Psalm 23.4

This man who had just entered the tunnel, was bathed in shadows. And his size and swagger reminded me of the pretty well-known verse from the bible. (PS : When he emerged, it was evident that this dude was not one you'd wanna get in the way of. Big man.)

#50 - Slow sales

While camping at a spot at Amoy Street, I observed this old man for several minutes. He just seemed to be going through his motions and seemed somewhat resigned to the constant rejection he was receiving from passers-by. I wonder if he managed to sell any at all. The vibrance and details of the scene around him also captured my eye and prompted me to capture the scene.

Take 13 - Walkabout from Tanjong Pagar to Raffles Place

I had to go down to Paya Lebar to collect some things. So I decided to take a walk from Tanjong Pagar to Raffles Place to see if I could spot some interesting moments.

#51 - Contemplation
Yet another old man is a subject of my story. This gentleman here was showing the rest of the word how one takes it easy and reflects on life. He was quite the picture of relaxation. Not rushing with his smoke, but savouring every moment of it while seemingly in deep thought.

#52 - Contrasting Postman
I loved the colour contrast and the neatness that the background at the Red Dot Museum presented me with. As luck would have it, dear Mr Postman was doing his rounds as well. I snapped several frames and chose this one where the postman was rather nicely aligned with the 1st row of letter boxes. These is just something about the rich colour of red that makes splendid pictures. Had to pump ISO all the way up to 1600 for this one unfortunately. The poor performance of the 650d at such high ISO is quite telling.

#53 - Eccentric?
I chanced upon this antiques dealer at Amoy Street. Looking at his shop (and him) I figure he is the sort of person who is more interested in collecting than selling. The clutter and chaos in his shop is somewhat mirrored by his appearance too.

As i chanced upon this wall with its paint peeling and the various colours popping out from under, I know it would make a nice capture. Its like nature decided to draw a painting on the side of a wall.

#55 - Lightfall 2
My experimentation with "Chasing the Light" (as inspired by Ibarioex Perello) continues with this picture. The gnentleman was sitting in picture perfect position with the beautiful backdrop of light just behind him. His faraway gaze was just perfect and he looked like he was posing for the camera.

#56 - Reflecton. Penultimate
I was walking behind Jalan Besar stadium, when right in front of me were these two gentlemen. In perfect coordination. I know that the technical aspect of this shot is quite lacking with so many distracting elements. But this moment was too precious to be discarded. If only they could see how synchorized they were for that split second. Even the slant of their shoulders are so identical! Are they brothers? Possibly twins?

This man found his spot along a quiet sidewalk and took a moment to enjoy his conversation. A great and real smile from him deserved to be captured. What good news was he sharing over the phone?

This lady was behind the half-closed doors of the shop house. The extremely still atmosphere and pin-drop silence all around made me real curious as to what was in the drawer she was intently looking into. I never got to find out as she never took her hand out of the drawer.

A salesman of faith? Whatever he may be, he certainly had the innocent face to carry his message. However, this passer-by seems rather skeptical. I wonder who convinced whom in the end?
