Dear guys,

Despite what you guys taught me, still I am having difficulties in converting the MXF files.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/thre...into-what-format-video-files-(lossless-files)

Although now the files are converted into smaller Mpeg2-DVD files and wav files for each clips. The resolution is smaller at 720x576. Despite attempts to change the file format and dimensions, either after converting strange sizes come out or it is unusable. I believe like photos, from Raw files you wanna high jpeg or tiff files according to your needs, my requirements for experimental video is this case too. Now decided to buy an AVCHD converter to convert directly into 1940x1080 for each clips.

I understand that whatever file format I converted to, it will lost a little details and info but I need to edit in high res so that next time I can change the finished files into smaller versions.

Advisable? Please enlighten... Thanks again.

i have use Premiere pro cs 5 without conversion for mxf files, but only problem you need a powerful system prefer a i7 3.4 with 8gb ram and using at least 1gb nvidia card. edit in premiere and output to whatever from there.
Before this i was using quad core and man..... it was super slow when scrubbing or rendering... after upgraded my system, 1 hour of mxf footage with color correction, it is just 1.5 hours of render to output.Hope this helps.

Besides upgrading of system, any other comments.

Cos I only need the high res files back in its 1440 x 1080 dimensions only. Supposingly this clip is 0001.MXF a 8 sec clip. I want it to be 0001.avi or 0001.mov also at 8 sec, a bit loss in details should be fine. How to do in Premiere Pro CS 4? Tried changing codec and this and that...

Sorry double posting... Don't know why iPhone didn't show my first reply
