= Stefan's Weekly Singapore City/Landscapes II =

Here's to something that's a little long overdue! :) As usual, the auto white balance taken on my S II is a bit poor thus a bluish tone to it despite very strong hues of orange over Telok Blangah, though I shall also admit there's a change of White Balance on my 7D as well and it looks better on orange.

Thank you Kiwira and debyos :)

Here's something from NSRCC this morning:

#148

Cloud and Water

2 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies + ND 0.9 for smooth water effects. Changi Beach Coastal Walk, Singapore.

Here's to my second visit to this enchanting place and it's that time of the year the sun changes its direction. The sunrise wasn't all too great, but still seem alright to me. More to come.

Broken Worlds

2 Image HDR/DRI 2 image panorama to relief right side spatial proportion using GND 0.9 soft + ND 0.9 for smoothed water effects. Changi Coastal Walk, Singapore.

2nd shot again from the series. Kinda difficult to find good meaningful composition there.

Thank you drawde :)

Here's another behind the scenes this time from Bishan!

Getting Nowhere

Single Image RAW, using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 hard for higher tonality of the skies + Lee Big Stopper for smoothed cloud and water effects. Changi Coastal Walk, Singapore.

I just feel that my photography needs some change. I'm bored of my own work and I need to find something else - a change, that will entice my scenic and landscape photo taking experience. Time to try something bold and different...

Thank you, nitewalk. :)

Litter, Litter, Everywhere

3 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies + Lee Big Stopper for smoothed cloud effects. Changi Coastal Walk, Singapore.

Last one from the series. I swear I will shoot something meaningful from this place, next time.

I prefer #148 comparing to #149 to #151. It more exciting with the waves on bigger rocks and the beautiful clouds. I notice your consistency with certain tones especially with seascape and some de-saturation. Maybe Im wrong but it is actually pleasing and nice... and enjoy it... ;)

Thanks Manita. :) Well actually, for #151 is the Big Stopper's colour cast that I didn't want to fix. I thought it was pleasant to look at. :) I like the metallic blue tones from the big stopper. :D Same for #150 too, all I did was de saturate the skies so that it will match well with the foreground, also taken as it is on the big stopper; well I did de-saturate a little but not as alot like the sky.

Thanks SoulFly. :) I will be exploring more of Bishan Park as this is the best time of the year to shoot sunsets from there and the weather is cool enough to walk around and find good compositions.

Been busy lately and didn't have time to post-process or shoot anything as of late. Here's something (yet long overdue) to keep this thread moving! :D The original shot was taken much earlier as the blue hour was fantastic. The behind the scenes shot was taken much later for enough light to be captured with my S II.

Labrador Rhythm

2 Image HDR/DRI using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies. Labrador Park, Singapore.

I took a couple of 5 or more shots of the amazing sunset with different foreground interests, but I couldn't get the composition I wanted as the waves were dangerously strong and general safety should not be compromised for the sake of composition. I guess this one stood out among all of them.

Do they open the gates nowadays? I remember the gates were closed. Or there is another way in?

The Happy Occasion

2 Image HDR/DRI 2 image panorama to relief spatial tightness on left side using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies. Labrador Park, Singapore.

Oh how I love this enchanting place at this time of the year; and I hope it never dies, or the jetty be demolished or the shore, developed. Time will only tell.

Uninspired Like A Rock

2 Image HDR/DRI 2 Image panorama to relief left and right side spatial proportion using GND 0.6 soft. Bishan Park, Singapore.

Had a long distance jog the day before and my legs were aching terribly. Couldn't walk any further into Bishan Park, as it was also getting dark. So I settled for a POV within my reach as pictured.

These days I feel terribly unenthusiastic about my works. I'm probably bored to death of the same places I go, the same things I shoot. I need change, and I feel my compositional skills are degrading and less inspired to do the things I used to do - exploration. I have this weird mood to shoot something that's around me rather than finding composition of fantastic story and value that I want the audience to know or see.

John Lennon once said: I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round. I'm just like this big rock here, there's so much opportunity around me to experiment to my heart's content, but I'm just not doing it.

The World of Bukit Panjang

Single Image RAW, 9 Image Panorama using GND 0.9 soft + GND 0.6 soft for higher tonality of the skies. Bukit Panjang Estates, Singapore.

Initial plans were to include the road on the foreground using Verto+Pano technique but the trees below kinda destroyed the view of the road.

Thought of visiting this area as I always pass by during my time serving the mandatory military service in Singapore, as I never realise this place works well for good sunrises during this time of the year, at least according to Google Earth and my predictions. Will come back here again and shoot for better sun.

Hi stefan,

If you dont mind. I think you can host a workshop about your craft. So can share the great technique that you have in landscape photography. Im your biggest fan and will be first to be on the list.

Anyone agree? Hope it can come to a reality
