Hi Lemon bro.. I am afriad this is not going to happen due to several limitations. Wanted to do this as a very basic intro to the community on stabiliser options. Ha ha I think some of the folks on the list r a lot more experienced! Until I secure some kinda support, its not going to come true unfortunately. Thks for the support thou!

Maybe... Just maybe I can help some time in Feb 09. Currently own a Magiqcam (dual arm with body harness), a Glidecam 4000 and a Merlin. Balanced them on my heavy Z7s.

And perhaps can also share what I'll be learning from Patrick Moreau (on the usage of stabilizers for weddings)....

A smaller gathering of less than 8 each time will be more fun and effective.

Hey, I've not been following up on this...
Although the Magiqcam is a dual-articulated arm setup, it is not really good. Mainly because 1) it is not iso-elastic (i.e. constant spring force throughout the entire boom length) like the real steadicams, 2) the 4 pins in each parallelogram arm is not bearing-based.

Pt 1 will make it heavier to hold up as you try to boom the sled higher. Pt 2 means that the arm can have jerks when you try to compress/uncompress it, hence not really smooth to absorb the body bounce.

You'll be surprise that I'm using Glidecam 4000 with the Z7, and my partner uses the Merlin with the Z7 too! Yeah... we sweat a lot....

i need classroom for 20pax. This is an intro workshop. Cuz there is no way to fund the rental of stabilsers unless people are willing to pay. May be we can do that in the future but for now, the intention is to offer a window for folks who always wanted to know wat a stabiliser can do for one. Try to showcase the diff types of options and capabilities.

On lah! I can bring my Steadicam Merlin (which I cannot use very well yet) and let others have some hands-on with it.

Good news. There is hope for a location with logistics support. Meaning u folks will have a chance for hands on. I will be coming up with some details for clearance and thereafter, detailed registration for the event.

Likely to be in Apr/May timeframe if I succeed. Otherwise I will be working with some nice supporters that have offered to assist in the effort. Watch out the details here.
