Stay 60D or upgrade?

try adding on some Magic Lantern. It will make your 60D more interesting (although I am not sure if there is a port to 60D .)

It's almost like getting a brand new camera! (in many ways...focus peak, zebra stripes, focus trap, intervalometer, variable FPS video, etc)

That's how I ended up with Weird Photography Related Dreams.

you pay for the quality glass, regardless of EF-S or EF mount.

Hahahahahaha! Now that you pointed out! Didn't realise it! Never disappoint me and or never fail to deliver, were what I meant.

Thanks for highlighting it.

TS just by whatever the **** u want. it's your money. dun need to ask strangers here. everyone is like you, just that online we can anyhow give u our opinion.

hell i say if u wanna come canon just buy 5D3 + 50 1.2

don start with that not a true CSer.

Does a 5D MKIII or FF makes you a better photographer? Or is there an additional function on the dial stating "Award Winning Priorty (AWP)" :P

I am so happy with my 60D and I am all out to maximize it till the day that the camera tells me that he is too old to work of me....I have the 17-55 F2.8, 50mm F1.4 and Sigma 30mm F1.4. Great lenses and cam for me.

Looking at the birth of 6D, entry-level of FF, I believe the camera-makers are going to make affordable FF in the near future. Brands are just battling out to fight for the position in the market, every new model is about giving you a little more of this or that only. Looking back, Canon or Nikon has always been portrayed as brands delivering performance but recent year....they have redirected their targets at entry-level or pro-consumers....their pockets are deeper to dig in as compared to the professionals...

don't confuse the tools with the art ...

The 60D is very capable. But are you? Most of the issues discussed here often are located behind the viewfinder ..
Beside this .. 'hear from you asap' sounds very impolite. People will respond as and when they have time, not when you request it.

What do u mean every photo? For me i have managed to get great shots from alot of different scenarios...landscape..action...birding..sports..macro...after all its up to ur skill level n lens combination that matters..but most important is ur creativity level..

the articulating screen allows u to take odd angles while ur still able to see what u want on ur screen. ....

ive taken shots while out stretching out my arm out of Windows n still be able to see what i shoot..shoot an awesome same level.shot of an emu's head even though it's way taller than me..so yeah..its a good camera

Now now..don't have to be all harsh on him...obviously he is anxious to find out from peoples point of view..everyone has a different level of creativity n how much they can think out of the box..if they are very interested in learning..they can pick up good photography very fast with whatever camera they have.

....bernard i only got a serious opinion for u...if ur buying a dslr n.only going to use it for ur project or take it out on several occasions bday..cny christmas etc etc..just buy a point n shoot camera.

.if ur serious about learning by all means go ahead..make full use of ur camera..read n learn n experiment....very important..even till now after almost having a full year with the 60d..I'm still going back to the manual to look for stuff if i missed anything out...it referring to old photography magazines pages which i bookmarked..

May I asking about 60D is compatible with D7k?

cause I saw the price is slightly equal to D7k, but the body built like D300s and ISO boot up 12,800 right & video function as well.

Sorry to asking about this.
Cause I am just when back HK and saw most of Pro wedding photographer was using 40D & 50D and shooting seriously.

So the 60D would be very great cam.

Compatible? One is N and the other is C, so I don't see how are they compatible...

It doesn't matter what they are using... It's the result that matters.

If you are talking about specs of 60D, I think many would think 50D > 60D.

2 years ago I did a small event for an organisation using a 60D with 18-55 kit lens, and pics were published in their publication and some turned up at their exhibition.

I guess all cameras can do the job, it's just how good or how much more we the photographers expect and want. So it's difficult to answer.

For TS need, 550D is already sufficient. But there's always a reason why you need more. Only TS will know the answer.

Ok ok I have no meaning... Just think to grab one for fun :)

Do you mean comparable? But you already compared the specs. Compatible they are not ..

Sure, but only if you know how to handle it. The topic is age old and eternal: without skills the best camera will not help.

I hv a friend who is a professional. He uses cropped format with all the L lenses.

I am Nikon noob :) Only had a D90 in my hands once :)
Do compare the 50D and 60D. There are some differences in the 60D which are not well received: SD cards, light body. Others like the swivel screen. Best to go and hold both in your hands.
For ISO performance it's best to check with Digital Photography Review to get neutral data. Don't look at pics of others, you'll never know how the picture was taken and how much processing was done.

Many2 times my friends try to poison me to switch to 5Dmk2, especially since the 2nd hand price is reasonably affordable, but I stick with my 60D because:

- I like to shoot street, candid, sport, show & performance. 60D with its all-cross type AF points wins hands down.
- I have more 'reach' with a crop body. If I use a FF camera I would need a teleconverter.
- Weight.

Oh and I don't mind to see some noise on my images :)
