Hi fellow shooters,

now that the A1 has arrived. I have a question to ask. The SSM lens was announced somewhere in june right and A1 is announced in August. but A1 arrive faster than the SSM lens.

Am I correct or has the SSM arrived already? If so, how much will they be and the optics quality. The yahoo minolta forum says that the 80-200 HS is better in terms of sharpness than the 70-200 SSM. Any feedback on this?

Regards

Probably, the day when minolta announced it DSLR, the SSM lenses will arrive. I can imagine how pathetic the sales figures will be without Minolta's commitment to DSLR.

By the way, I have noticed that the 80-200 HS lens seems to drain my battery juice at a faster rate. any one has this kind of feeling?

Hello,

This is my 1st posting since getting SCV broadband :D :bsmilie: ;p It's probably due to the fact that it's not "IF"

Hi andy, does the IF mean internal focus?

Still cannot believe that it's so fast,I mean the broadband. :bsmilie: yes you are right, the front element is so big and the focusing shaft is connect from the rear of the lens to the front.tat's why. :bsmilie:

So the lens is pretty useless with any filters that need to be stuck in a particular position lar..... like special effects filters and circular/linear polarisers in particular right??
