The LR44 is the alkaline version of the SR44 (silver oxide).

Go to Mustafa at Serangoon Road to get the LR44... selling at 50 cents each only.

In fact, most shops (even supermarkets) will stock these very common batteries.

That's nice to hear. I am using A76 batteries currently for my XA. Bought them from neighbourhood photo lab. Exposures are good on the camera. No problems.

You can till the Alkaline LR44s start to wear down, the voltage changes which it might affect your exposures with some camera meters. While the Silver Oxide SR44s tend to maintain a constant voltage throughout their life.

Check out the battery supply shop in the basement of SLT just under the escalators. They should have stock of them.
