Date : 7 & 8 March 2009
Time : As early as 6am for setup, event from 7am to 5pm. TBD as organizer has yet to confirm.
3-4 photographers required for a sports event on the abovementioned dates. Images will be available to the public for viewing & sale during the event. Profits will be shared amongst the staff accordingly post-event. Previous similar event earned approx $400-500 per staff. This is only a guide, as profits depend on how well each photographer performs.
Requirements :
1) Nikon D300, D700, D3, D3X cameras & 70-200mm F2.8 lenses. Reasons are to ensure a similar image 'look', easier batch editing, consistent good high ISO performance & standardized protocol for renaming & processing on-site.
2) Experience in low-light or sports photography. Both would be preferable.
3) Proficient in post-processing and batch editing via Photoshop/Lightroom/Capture. Abilty to carry out noise reduction is a bonus.
4) Must be able to attend both days.
5) Must be flexible in start & end timings should the need arise.
6) Must be able to attend a half-day briefing/familiarization pre-event. Most likely sometime around 27-29 Feb.
Applicants need to submit 10-15 images of low-light/sports photographs. Watermarked images are acceptable. You must own the copyright to these photographs. Send me an email with your images attached, to alvinlim@pixcelworks.com, or a link to your website.
Important : The copyright of images taken during the event belong to PiXcelWorks Photography, who has been engaged by the organizer to provide photographic coverage during the event. Photographers are hired to shoot for the company, and not on a personal basis. Images are sold to the public, hence the need for ownership of the images by the company. Photographers are free to use the images they have captured for their own portfolio, after an embargo period of 6 months from the event date.
