Now Thailand is suspecting that Singapore has "eavesdropped" their game plan in the first leg of the Asean Football Championship. :bsmilie:

Singapore's dodgy soccer win fires talk of eavesdropping, use of foreign nominees
Actually, we have the technology to fire a beam of microwave from the recently bought satellite hovering just above Thailand, to fry the Thai players' brains while they're on the field.

Now u know why we need to increase 2% to justify for the purchase?

All for SINGAPORE! YEAH!

.

Some more playing in Bangkok... if we win, the spectators might throw stones leh.
Or maybe they will accuse us of bugging their locker rooms, and listen in on their strategy.

The nation multi media news looks like a spoof news site. I think it is better to verify if it is real before taking it as real news. For one, we are the Singaporea national team not Temasek United. It looked as if the writer did it to make a dig at the Temasek Thai fiasco. Also the way the news was written also looks fake. Yes the Thais might have walked off the pitch in anger but I dont think anyone is so dumb to think that we evaedropped on them for a soccer match. Any politician worth his salt wont dare say anything as dumb as that.

LATEST from CNA. Seems that we are really unwelcomed. Their Tourism minister actually said the above.....

Actually, he is right. The current coup govt are so inept that safety really cannot be ensured 100%.

I bet u ah, sooner or later some smart-alec over there is going to say that sporeans are chicken etc, dare not come n support your own team.

Were having a discussion in the office. One question, what if after the game. The thais go on a rampage? Protest outside Spore Embassy, beat up Singaporeans, etc etc....

Maybe the fans can bring some Hello shop brochures over and show them Singtel's latest attractive promotion.

Maybe they will be less hostile

I pity the SAF perm staff stationed at Kanchanaburi camp now... sweating in their pants now.

Thai players and officials face ASEAN final ban

BANGKOK, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Thai players and officials face suspension from the second leg of the ASEAN championship final following the team's dramatic first-leg walkout against rivals Singapore, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) said on Thursday.

Singapore won a bitterly-fought match 2-1 on Wednesday after the Thai players walked off the field for 15 minutes following a hotly-disputed penalty award to Singapore eight minutes from time. Singapore eventually scored the penalty and won 2-1.

Anyone found guilty of orchestrating the protest or manhandling the referee could be banned from the second leg in Bangkok on Sunday.

'The ASEAN Football Federation are studying the relevant reports from the match commissioner and referees inspector,' an AFF spokesman told Reuters.

'Based on the records action will be taken against anyone guilty of wrong-doing in the 1st leg.'

A capacity crowd at the National Stadium booed and jeered as the Thai team walked, preventing the penalty being taken.

Their tempers flared after Singaporean striker Noh Alam Shah went down in the area and the Malaysian referee pointed to the spot.

The players eventually returned after 15 minutes and Mustafic Fahrudin fired the penalty high into the roof of the net to put Singapore 2-1 ahead.

The walkout came amid growing bad blood between the two countries following last year's takeover by Singapore state investment arm Temasek of telecoms firm Shin Corp, founded by ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Temasek's $3.8 billion acquisition of Shin Corp added fuel to anti-Thaksin street protests that led to his removal in a bloodless military coup on Sept. 19.

A spat erupted two weeks ago when Bangkok summoned the Singaporean ambassador to protest a meeting between Thaksin and one of the city-state's senior cabinet ministers.

Bangkok police said tight security arrangements were being made to prevent angry scenes at Sunday's match, while big screens would be put up outside the stadium for fans without tickets.

'The number of policemen will be enough to control the crowd,' Metropolitan Police Spokesman Lt Col Pinit Maneerut told Reuters.

'As usual, we will send sniffer dogs, bomb squads as well as all plainclothes and riot police to the stadium.'

The referee is Jimmy Napitupulu from Indonesian. He would be in charge of this Sunday's match. The two assistant referees are Muhammad Yunus Suaidi from Indonesia and Cambodia's Koung Ly.

Napitupulu officiated in the first leg semi-final in Hanoi when Thailand beat Vietnam 2-0.

any players or officals has been ban? Singapore odd 5.. i doubt they will be able to win or else they will not be heading home safely. Even the Thai minister could not promise the safely of the singaporeans. There a huge chance ending with a tie.
