Great work! haven't caught up with your thread for a while and am impressed with the collection you are building up. thanks for sharing so much on your pp methods too!:)

sadly i'm guilty of not using my ndx400 enough as i still struggle with the exposure control and my travel size tripod is really not stable for LE esp when there is a strong wind so i end up with quite some ghosting... but all excuses i guess... :embrass:

Hey, thank you for visiting and kind words. No worries about the pp method, am glad it helps to everyone!

Practise makes perfect with these Big Stopper. I once almost give up on it due to stuggling in getting the right exposure and took me awhile to understand it wrt to the light availability.

I normally will get my camera bag hook on the tripod while doing the LE to stabilize the whole structure even there is no wind.

Cheers and good weekend to you!

Rgds,
Thomas

Hi Bryan,

For this, I clone off the horizon as the sky movement is awesome that day!

Then, Silver Efex Pro did the rest of the job and a little curve to increase the highlights and reduce contrast to flatten the image a little.

Sharpen and Resize and save...:)

All and all, took less than an hour for this..

SEP is s very strong n convenience sw for B&W enthusiast like me. But at times, manual conversion in CS4 alone gives better result. It depends on what u want to potray actually.

Cheers

nice comp and tones, but I can see posterization?

Thank you EM for dropping by.

Which part did you see the posterization?

Am trying to recover this image which is quite underexpose due to fast change of sunset light and resulting in miscalculate on the exposure time but I do like this composition...:)

Let me see what I can do from the RAW file again..:)

Hi Thomas, this piece is certainly worth the effort. I see faint shades of circles graduating from the highlight in the water before the break, into the shadows. the graduation is a bit posterised. Also a bit in the graduation between the highlight from the horizon towards the sky. I have to say, on different monitors, the degree of posterisation looked different. So I am not sure now if it is a monitor issue.
