Spooky hotels to share

Grand Hyatt Taipei
Taipei, Taiwan

hiz bros/sis,

stayed in this hotel b4, think this year feb.

although i personally didnt encounter spooky stuffs but my mom did. (both of us never really saw it with our eyes, juz she heard the "noise") during the nite, she heard "something" open up 1 of our luggage bag's zip & heard 1 of her cosmatic bottle being moved.

b4 we checked in, we already notice the 2 BIG chinese tailsman decorates likes a painting which hangs in the lobby. i believe any bro/sis who have been there will saw it.

then i notice the luggage boys (sorry, dont know wad to call them) will bring us to our room. but b4 they open the door, they will knock on the door 1st.

anyway, the hotel really gives me the creep. i find the lights in the room is abit dull.
(paiseh, abit long-winded) :embrass:

As for the knocking of the door before entering the room is almost like a standard procedure in all Chinese hotel... at least those I visited in ShenZhen, Qingdao and Dongguan. And I was also told by my senior to do that before we enter a room.

There are a few theories behind that though.

1) To tell the 'permanent residence' of the room that they have company.
2) To tell anyone inside the room (sometime, maybe a service person is inside cleaning the room or something like that) that we are coming in.

So really, it might not be the spooky things.

However if you noticed when you go to hotels in the ang mo country like Australia, you will find that they kept a bible in the drawers too.

Oh... btw... never knew those thing like to beautify themselves too... touching your mom's cosmetic set :D

Bangkok ,Thailand
Chung Tai Hotel

In Bangkok, six young people on vacation find themselves stranded at an airport due to a riot. A driver takes them to the Chung Tai Hotel, run by Chuen, where Rainie sees a female ghost and Ling finds a hovering hand trying to grab her. While at dinner the three men disappear. Rainie leads the girls with the aid of Man-man and her ghost-seeing dog Little Huang as they try and find them in the hotel's underground passages where they encounter the female ghost and a strange monster which is actually a dog human hybrid.

almost all the hotels are haunted for one reason or another. that's why these hotels management would perform big prayer during the 7th month. usually at the back of the hotel
or cp. if you notice, suntec city has a big alter at a corner in their basement cp. all these
are there for a reason. not for display purposes.

GH singapore is the most spooky hotel i ever seen. dont believe, ask the staff or security
guards there.

I'm into a little fengshui. I've heard of this "infamous" hotel.
If I remember correctly, there are a lot of "rules" to follow in that hotel.

That hotel is really spooky. I have heard a lot of "stories" about that hotel. All I can say is that, if you're not an adventure seeker, JUST STAY AWAY from that hotel.

Received this mailer from Chan Brothers and thought this might be interesting to share.

Hollywood Roosevelt
Hollywood, California, USA

Once listed in the 2006 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List, the Hollywood Roosevelt, named after President Teddy Roosevelt, opened in 1927. The famous resident ghost is reported to be that of Marilyn Monroe. She was a frequent guest of the hotel in suite 1200. Marilyn’s image is said to have been caught in a mirror that was formerly located in the aforementioned suite but has been relocated to an area near the elevators in the lobby…

Queen Mary
Long Beach, California, USA

Queen Mary Hotel is reputed to be one of the most haunted hotels in the world. The hotel’s swimming pool area has been identified as the most haunted place at the hotel. Over the years that the hotel was commissioned, there have been strange happenings reported by guests & staff at the hotel. Reports include disembodied voices, ghostly apparitions, strange rapping noises & moving objects. If you are brave enough, sign up for the special "Ghost Encounter" tours…

The Langham
London, UK

Over the last 170 years, at least five ghosts make regular appearances in this hotel. The most infamous room, & still available for those who do not believe in ghosts, is room 333. In this room, a BBC newscaster had woken up in the dark of night & saw a fluorescent ball which began to take a human shape before his eyes. He could see through the figure to objects on the other side of the room. And when he asked the ghost who it might be, it began to float toward him with arms outstretched. He didn't stay around to get an answer…

The Shelbourne Dublin
Dublin, Ireland

The grand Shelbourne Hotel which is located on St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin, was constructed from a row of houses in 1824 & boasts its very own ghost. Check out room 526 & you may find the ghost of Mary Masters who had lived in the row of houses which once stood where the hotel is now. She had died of cholera in 1791. This fabulous hotel has been extensively renovated & it is believed that Mary is still wandering the halls…

Hotel Scandinavia
Venice, Italy

Ghostly doings seem to be coming from the nearby Bridge of Sighs, a purportedly haunted site in Venice. This bridge by which condemned prisoners crossed from their trial at the Doges’ Palace to the prison at the other side of the canal, has enough reason to be haunted. For centuries Venetians have claimed to hear sighs, wails & groans coming from this covered stone bridge from which doomed men caught their last glimpse of Venice…

The Russell
Sydney, Australia

Formerly a sailor’s hostel, the paranormal activities in Sydney’s Russell Hotel date back to colonial days. An ancient seaman is said to head out on midnight leisurely walks. Staying at Room No. 8 may come with the opportunity to witness the ghost who restlessly stares at the guests. Hotel staff & guests have witnessed unnatural sound of floorboards creaking & other paranormal activities…

Grand Hyatt Taipei
Taipei, Taiwan

Ask any Taipei local & chances are they will be able to relay a haunted experience of some kind at the hotel, which was built on top of an old cemetery. Supposedly, this is why all rooms have two paintings, each featuring a black-white vase, to ward off evil spirits. There are also many ornaments along the corridors & lobby intended for the same effect…

Weekly Mansion Tokyo At Akasaka
Tokyo, Japan

Visitors have reported hauntings in this stately Japanese hotel, particularly from building #1. Though the source of the ghosts is unknown, anecdotal evidence includes apparitions standing at the foot of visitors' beds in the middle of the night. There have also been reports of strange white mists that rise through the air conditioning vents. One startling report even has a woman being dragged entirely from her bed & across the room by an unseen assailant…

The 2 talisman in the lobby give most people the creeps. Fortunately no encounter of that sort for me during my stay. No wonder my Taiwan friends asked me to shift hotel citing that palce is inconvenient to pick me. I thought : "huh ? so central and still inconvenient ?"

Everywhere got ghosts wan. So hotels are not excluded... there were cases of people died in the hotel rooms which later become 'haunted' becoz their spirits still linger in the same room.

Just follow these basic 'courtesy' when lodging into a hotel @ http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/31818/ghosts_and_chinese_superstitions.html

Some Hotels in Singapore i heard are haunted. Just to name a few... The hotel at Changi Village... Hotel 81 (Changi)... some budget hotels in the red light district (Geylang)...

I used to have weekends getaway with my family there (before and after the change in management). The lightings in the room was abit dim, but so far, no strange encounters ....
