Split Screen Effect with Borders

u can achieve this effect through adobe after effects with ease!

aw really?! is it possible for premiere elements?

It's just a matter of shifting the position of the video clips on the canvas. I'm not sure how the Elements interface looks like but it should be similar in operation with regards to the canvas shifting.

yup its alot to do it on after effects with masking.

But I was trying to do something similar on premiere. Some solutions i found so far was to use Pshop to create a luma matte and use the keying in premiere which feels kind of tedious.

Or if for just a simple split screen you can just use the wipe transition.

Combination of size and position parameters under your motion tab and Left/right/top/bottom slider controls under your crop tab. These can be found by clicking on the edit effects button.

Plus i think (think only, have not touched elements since like 2003...) you need to alt click to stack multiple clips onto a timeline to avoid chopping existing media on your timeline.

thanks for the suggestions. i tried making photoshop borders and used video merge over my cropped clips but its kinda tedious. looks like things are easier in after effects. i think i'll try studying after effects.

thanks again!!
