Don't worry bro. Next time just do your research.yes. definitely.
For me i rather go to Reputable shops like Cathay Photo, MS Colours, John 3:16 more reliable .
reputable or not i think what was said earlier hold very much true.
always do your homework check on the prices before you actually go down to shop and buy.
if they are giving you prices higher then norm just smile and walk away. but if you really want just tell them a reasonable price and see if they accpect. if they know you have already checked on the pricing they wont anyhow one.
bought my 17-55 from cathay ms after going to TCW, John 3:16 and Cathay penisular.
i was quoted ranging from 1500 - 1350 till before i buy at cathay ms, the saleman actually quoted be 1450.. which then i told him why so high? i wasnt quote that much at all. which in the end be brought it down to 1350..
as per adviced by many before. always check on the pricing. look around before buying. this will prevent you from being carroted..
anyway.. since already got the flash.. go out shoot more play more to get back the $$ paid more and show us some nice pic you got with that.
that will be worth the extra $$..![]()

Cathay Marina Square quotes prices at the higher side. So you need to find out the best prices else where before heading there. Otherwise, you'll just be ripped off.reputable or not i think what was said earlier hold very much true.

sorrie to say hor.. you kenna carrot cake.... i bought a 430EX II for $415 nett in Jan 2009... Even after price increase, flashes aren't affected at all..
mine is a local set with canon warranty.
They use Yen Price Hike as an excuse to up the price. Typical. They can be very dishonest with newbie like me.
You need to find the right friend. Bosses don't make good friends.Got ripped at Parisilk too. Same reason. Paid 470 for 430II. Worse still, i went there cause i worked for the boss before at one of the IT shows and i actually trusted him when he said the price hike was for the accessories too! Called back when i realised and they still got the cheeks to 'thank' me for pointing to them that their cost price was higher than others and they were going to call up canon to find out why. bullshit.
And can only suck thumb.
The only consolation is go out and shoot more lor. Make the flash worthwhile.
Only go to reputable shop, from now on. And there is no friend when the other person is selling you something! :nono:
