Hi. First post here. Would like to share photo of the southern sky taken with a PnS (Canon Ixus) and just a tripod.

This was taken under dark skies in Malaysia, and was a combination of 4x 15 sec shots.

Beautiful,i like how the trees stand out but too noisy for a PnS.

Hi. Location for this shot was Mersing, Malaysia, but there are many other dark places along the East Coast of Malaysia. For example, P. Aur where many people go diving is very dark.

:thumbsup: Amazing what you have done with a lowly P&S! Musty try this someday, when I am overseas. Any special technique to avoid startrails? How did you combine the images?
 

This is really nice for a point and shoot, tried any noise reduction software for the bottom portion?

Thanks for the suggestion. Here's the photo after I redid the noise reduction with NEAT:

That is the southern cross just right of center.
