Aren't the a700, a550 and a500 using the sane exmor sensor already?

I believe A500 and A550 are using the same sensor but with different pixel density. A700 might be previous version of their exmor sensor.

Both a700 and a500 are using exmor sensor of 23.5 x 15.6mm, with the a700 having a resolution of 12.2mp vs a500's 12.3mp, so pixel density difference will be so small its negligible...

5 to 6 more days to go...

sorry if i sound like ... waiting for PSLE results hehehe

Hahahaha let the market flooded with compact slr camera ..............Good for us thanks to the competition.;)

But seriously, if its a mini sized dslr, but uses aps-c sensors and can use alpha mounts, it sure will encourage a lot of alpha users to buy it as backup, not to mention a lot of new users buying it and thus increasing the market base for alpha lenses.

I would not mind buying 1 too....

They also need to release some more crop factor lens too. It doesn't make sense to mount a 24-70 to those mini sized cams with interchangeable lens.

On the other hand, mounting giant sized lens onto mini sized body would make heads turn LOL.

Sure alot of ppl look at you :bsmilie:

I wonder what will be the price range of this new camera....will it be over $2K like the GH1?

Nah... I think they will sell cheap cheap for basic kit, then make a killing on the lens.

I wondwer should i wait for this camera, or just settle with the A550. Another camera under my consideration is the Panasonic GF-1. I was using Alpha A350 previously.

or the pentax K-X. $960 with kit lens. I believe it uses a sony cmos chip but can't confirm. :)

The rumor had been downgraded from SR5 to SR4, anyway I still hope that it's
an announcement for A7x0.:bsmilie:

I wonder if this upcoming cam is just going to use APSC lenses, don't know if I'm wrong in
imagining that by moving the lens closer to the sensor, it would result in a smaller projected image and would fit the new sensor nicely.:dunno:

Give me a low cost 16-50 DT f2.8 Sony.:bsmilie:

Probably the announcement on 18th Nov is something like this since the specs seems to be quite similar.

sony-DSC-RX.jpg

That's probably someone's fantasy.

Clue: Look at the dimensions, 110.4 x 79.4 x 51.3 and compare with the picture. The ratio is way out. In the picture the ratio of length to height is 2:1 but not in dimension.

It is also smaller than EP1: 121mm (W) x 70mm (H) x 36mm.

Anyhow sony also mentioned that any new mirrorless body will also support alpha lens.

One more day. Will Sony really announce a new camera tomorrow?

Is a rumour... Is a rumour.... Is a rumour...

Don't put so much hope on it. If it happens, good lor... If does not happen, then don't care lor...
