guys, what modes do u all usually use? Aperture? Manual?
i just got my M3. I have tried both Auto modes, and Manual. Since i can see the results view the LCD, i find that the Auto seem to work fine for me. The pictures are looking good even on Auto.
Perhaps when my eyes are better train will i be able to tell the differences to explore the other modes
The different modes isn't going to make the images any better. The modes merely adjust how you want the image to appear and how much control you want to have..the image quality isn't going to change.
In Funan now and just checked the prices for the Mk3. $950 with only 16gb card or $970 with card and extra Sony batt and charger. The latter deal more worth it. All no case but some include additional separate accessories.
which store is this?
i have no issues getting it <900 from online stores but it does not come with extra batt and charger (how much does those 2 items cost?).
The usual places in Funan, TK Foto, Alan Photo and SLR Rev as well as MS Color etc. Their prices all hover around $960. You don't need to hunt everywhere. The original Sony battery cum external charger retails for $99 by itself. Some of the stores also include some additional stuff like camera straps too. Do ask around. Buying online means you don't get the warranty, hence any defect you need to pay full rate in Singapore or send the item back to the country of origin.
That small difference I prefer to buy local and yes, the $99 battery + charger deal is quite good since it includes a spare battery which is not cheap by itself. Only issue is for $99, Sony skimped on the cable. No USB charging cable included, I think.

Or if the batt-charger not critical, this is a reasonable offer to. It covers 36 months LOCAL warranty..

Yup. Cannot tell much of a difference. That's why I normally leave it in auto mode. When using Aperture priority, it does not yield very strong bokeh, hence no really need to use that mode either.
Out of the box the jpgs look great already, at least for my snapshots.
Addon, last i check with SLRR was $968 but without the additional charger and battery. That's why i asked where you managed to get the promo with the freebies thrown in at a slight cost difference.
Hi Anders,
Both Alan Photo and TK Foto were offering the free gift plus 2 other stores whose name I can't recall. That they all offer the same package can't be a coincidence. So I presume it must be a promotion gift from Sony. Suffice to say, I think it is also while stocks last, so the longer we delay, the more likely the gift is gone.
As I said, the battery pack + charger retails for $99 at sony store..
BTW, are you saying Sony Singapore's official online store is selling this with warranty at $919 even though their Sony Centre is still quoting RRP of $1099 (discounted) ? Can send us a link?
Cheers
The $899 is from this site...
