Sony RX100 Mark III

1. No, not using raw. Is there a auto-correction of the lens distortion that I can turn on?

2. I tried many times taking a scene with intelligent auto & P mode, same aperture and shuttle speed was selected by the camera but the ISO is higher in P mode.

3. Oh, then must use mobile phone to take pictures with the camera on a selfie stick. Any wireless remote available for this camera ?

Connect your smart phone and use the phone as the remote.

Disappointed with the firmware update. The EVF auto shut down issue until now still yet to fix it with this new version.

Found this out by accident.

If you push the evf down say about halfway and hold, and then press and hold the power button, then continue pushing the evf all the way down, the camera will not shut down.

Will try and post a video of this procedure tonight.

Yes, but if you really try it, you will know is not easy to handle your camera and your phone at the same time.

Interesting method :) but I thinking will this method damage the camera in any way ?

About to put my money down for this Cam.

Any negative point about this camera beside the evf issue which I hope will be remedy in update.

How the general lag like ? Thanks a lot for advice.

That's one of the fixes I hope Sony will fix before I throw in my lot with this camera. Sony ... Hmm, all I can remember I had to spend quite a bit of time for them to even work on the A7 light leak issue.

I'm actually interested as to why Sony requires the camera to be turned off when the EVF is down. Speculations are that the EVF mechanism may not be as long-lasting if users were to push down and up several times. And turning off when EVF is down is supposed to suppress users from pushing the EVF down after each shot. But... these are just speculations, hope they can at least make it an option under the menus.

Hi guys,

May I ask for advise on which mode you would when taking selfie?

As I often observe some of those in the photos will become "defocus", especially those standing further behind.

Tks in advance!

If you don't want the people standing in the back to be blurred out, shoot in Aperture Priority and set it to F5.6 and Auto ISO, and shoot at 24mm.

And read up about Aperture and Depth of Field

Also once you press the shutter to lock focus, don't change distance .. Cos after that it won't change focus.

Hi guys!!

Recently got myself a rx100mk3 really love it!! Great compact for everyday use haha

Anyway I'm not sure if I might have missed it on the manual or something...

How do I change focus point??

I understand that I have to go to the screen manual choose manual focus after that I'm allowed to change the point...

But do I have to go thru this whole step every time I wanna change point?
Can point me I'm the right direction??

I'm quite new to the sony user interface

Thank you guys for the guidance

Manual focus does not let u choose the focus point, it allows you to adjust the "distance" to focus. Its particularly useful for videos or shooting a stationary subject.

For the focus point, you need to choose "flexible spot" if I remember correctly, you can do this both ways. One which u have said, is to scroll through the huge menus. The other is to press the function button while you're shooting... and select the type of focus u want, choose flexible spot and move the spot anywhere u want on the screen. This can be done, if I remember correctly. The function button will be particularly useful towards shooting, I see reviews say that u could change the items on function menu as well.
