Sony RX100 Mark III

Hi, I would like to check if this camera RX100 Mark III suitable to take photo of active children?

I'm wondering if Sony DSC-WX350 is sufficient.

I'm also considering Canon G16 and G1X Mark II.

Thanks

gotten mine over the weekend, from ms color, with ext charger and extra batt as well

1 question, mine seem to have problem connecting to my desktop pc and iphone. pc installed with playmemories software, when connecting, i can see a pop up at corner on pc, but upload took very long time till i gave up and cancel. when try to send photo to iphone, it forever said connecting as well.

can i confirm, when i want to transfer a photo to iphone, just need to wifi right? there is quite a good function to me and wife, when we want to upload a photo taken by this camera immediately to social media.

also would apprecaite if someone can suggest some good settings for easy to use purpose.

You have to install and open PlayMemories Mobile App in your Iphone first and connect it to the camera before you can transfer a photo to Iphone.

I installed PlayMemories app on iphone as well.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Install PlayMemories app
Start the app
Go to Settings, connect WIFI to that of RX100M3
Go back to PlayMemories app
?

Select "Send to Smartphone" or "Send to Computer" under Wifi connection Menu in your camera to transfer the photo.

I did exactly like this......

Don't forget that on the first time you connect via wifi, you will also have to use the Sony software to configure your computer as the wifi point. Program should be called 'Wireless Auto Import' if I recall correctly.

Generally transfer over wifi will be around 15-20% slower than using SD direct transfer.

Hi,
Anyone observe the following and know why:

1. Distortion is quite high when taking wide angle shots - eg. for group photo, people standing at the extreme left or right have their faces or head distorted.

2. The camera seems to select much higher ISO is P, A, S, M mode than in Intelligent Auto mode or could it be that the ISO recorded is wrong.

3. When taking selfie or using self-timer, it focuses & determines the exposure when you press the shuttle. Anyway to set to it do do so when it takes the photo when the timer ends?

1. You are using raw?

2. The set slower shutter or high aperture in these mode triggers a higher ISO.

3. No.

1. No, not using raw. Is there a auto-correction of the lens distortion that I can turn on?

2. I tried many times taking a scene with intelligent auto & P mode, same aperture and shuttle speed was selected by the camera but the ISO is higher in P mode.

3. Oh, then must use mobile phone to take pictures with the camera on a selfie stick. Any wireless remote available for this camera ?

Problem 2 just resolved after updating firmware from 1.00 to 1.10. I think the ISO value is wrongly displayed for intelligent auto mode in 1.00.

This is inherent in all wide angle lenses. The distortion cannot be corrected but can be reduced by careful placement of your subjects within the frame.

Thanks Huncitizen & Kit. I would have wished for the camera not to be so wide.

If im not wrong, u can always correct inaccuracies with zooms lens using lightroom. Just take ur photos using raw.

You could always shoot with a longer focal length, you have a wide choice afterall.

Yes, you are right but you also lose the F1.8 aperture.

f2.8 ain't really that bad, but i suppose that depends on personal preferences which i can understand.
