I said all three are on retail because that seems to be the case still online such as Amazon, whether it's out of production and they are just clearing the final batches... I'm not sure.

Cool, I will order one at amazon.com.sg immediately. By that logic the Sony Alpha A300 is also still a current model. I heard one online dealer in Brazil has still one set in stock.

wow impressive... for a pocket P&S camera with ISO 12800 of such quality.. i would say amazing..

Would pre-ordering or buying it when it is in stock be a better idea in terms of cost? From what I know, most shops usually sells cameras below the SRP. I have called up those shops and ask if they accept pre order, and they said yes, at the SRP price of $1,199. I can expect a better deal after the camera is officially in stock right?
I need the camera by August.

The recent new sony products don't have "street price". They have positioned themselves as being too atas to give discount. And also stocks always limited.

Base on the MKII experience, those street price will only be release at least 2-3 mths later so I doubt you can wait for those deal to be release. For myself I need it on July so no point pinning for any hope on better offer.
