Same thing people said about the rx100 with the 1" sensor. ;-)

Sony is really stepping up to the compact camera competition here. RX1 against Fuji (and to a certain extent, Leica) and RX100 against Canon.

Good time to be a consumer.

The RX1 rounds off a bumper 2012 of exciting new range of camera gear, from Nikon (D4, D800/E), Canon (1DX, 5D3, EOS-M), Fuji (X-Pro), Oly/Panasonic etc and a myriad of lenses. Competition rocks! BBB!!

Very exciting. RX1 in the right pocket and RX100 in the left, cover everything I need in photography, indoor, outdoor, travels and family events.

RX1 not pocket sized lar. That's just marketing spiel by Sony. A small camera bag will do nicely though.

Nice the RX1, only the non pancake lens put me off....

Where does the auto-ISO stops, at 3200 or 6400?

For such a high end camera, I would think the Auto-Iso has a customizable range like A77 and A900.

The A99 doesn't I think.

RX100 is pocket-sized, not the RX1 :bsmilie:

I have big pockets. Buy me an RX1, and I'll show you how to stick it in my pocket, then how fast I can run.

Big pockets alone no use. Must have deep pockets ;p

That's where keiko-chan comes in

I'm not sure if you want to call that competition. The FujiFilm X100 and the Sony RX1 are at two different price points.

The same cannot be said of the Leica X2. But Leica is Leica. Put a red dot and perspective changes immediately.

The optional vf is going to cost 599. I think the evf will be cheaper ... But this rx1 is an atas camera for sure

The beginning of the end of DSLR perhaps....
