im using crumpler 4mdh which i used prev with my gf1... but oso looking for a pouch (didnt find anything suitable at cp marina) for when i want to put inside gym bag or backpack
Bought the alpha 49mm NC filter to protect the 18-55 lens together with the NEX at sony style.
How much is the Sony NC filter? I bought a Marumi 49mm UV.
Just bought myself a NEX-5 camera, but still have to wait till end of June to get the 18-55mm lens with the S$300 voucher. The sales guy said to wait for the 18-200mm lens instead of the 18-55mm lens. What do you guys think?

i mean the sweep panorama function is cool and image quality is great BUT the background defocus doesnt seem to work for me or am i using it wrongly?

FYI,
for the mac users, iMovie can import the movie files straight in. Just click file, import from camera ( my memory stick was in a card reader, im assuming it works with the camera plugged in as well)
After the file is editable in iMovie.
You can also look for the MTS file and view it with VLC. Havent had time to create a movie yet.

I bought the Marumi for $30.
Defocus only work in Intelligent Auto mode. Do you happened to be in the wrong shoot mode?
If you are just looking at a case that can fit the body with 18-55, you can look for terraclime 10 which i bought for CP at 29 bucks. However do not there's no compartment inside so in the future if you get a 2nd lense it may scratch against one another.
My wife absolutely love it as its compact and you can choose to sling it or remove the sling and keep the bag in a bigger bag.
Also went hunting for screen protector and realize those standard 3.5" wide won't fit its too small... the 3.6" almost fit perfectly except its about 1mm wider so you need to cut... it should work as a good temp solutions until the official size is out.
Try your 'background defocus' when you are focused on an object very close to your lens, maybe a close up of your mobile phone for example. You should be able to see the 'background defocus' effect clearly.
background defocus is basically just increase aperture and there's no other software enhancement, that is why when you use a 18-55mm and use this defocus function you realize why the bar is shorter when you zoom cos you aperture cannot open til f3.5 towards the end... this function is basically meant for those first time user who's got no idea of Aperture settings to have the ability to take decent bokeh...
Did you get the voucher? If you have then get the 18-55 as it cost 99 bucks after discount. You can't use the voucher on the 18-200 anyway and mind you its a big lense (67mm) and the far end is F6.3 so you need to have either a pair of sniper hands of tripod to take decent photos at the far end...
