So far, there is no oss built-in for NEX cameras.

I'm still considering if i should just get this 55-210 to add on to the kit 18-55 lens
VS
getting the 18-200 for a one lens solution to replace the 18-55 along with it....

Any comments?

My dilema is almost same as u. Get de sel 55-210 to complement de kit 18-55 or get a 16-105/16-80 with ea2 adaptor?

Obviously former is much cheaper as de 55-210 is same price as ea2 adaptor alone but for de latter u need to buy de adaptor and de lens. Not to mention de former got OSS but de latter does not.

So actually seems quite no brainer except dat for de former u would need to swap lens. But if u have collection of Sony or legacy lens then its a different story, better to get de adaptor.

I'm thinking of getting the lens as well. Any idea where is the cheapest place to get it?

I also facing e same question, $399 for 55-210 or $899 for 18-200 and sell my 18-55??

For de 18-200, u still need to include another $399 for de la-ea2 adaptor bringing de total to $1298....with no form of image stabilizer. Picture clearer now?

i think someone's selling 2nd hand on BNS. btw, my advice would be to get the 55-210. the 18-200 is a monster that was actually meant for the VG10

Yeah...but de constant swapping of lens can be quite a pain especially when shooting under "dynamic" conditions....

E-mount 18-200 still need EA adaptor?

e-mount is made for nex so dont need any more adaptor..

an adaptor is only necessary for lenses not made for e-mount.. so for example A-mount lenses will need an A to E-mount adaptor (la-ea2) to be used on NEX

Recently I ask Harvey norman and was infd they selling E-mount 18200 for $899 leh. I was shocked too. That's why contemplating on which to buy...
If it's still selling at $1000+, then I would just buy 55210.

Dimensions (Dia. x L) 55-210 (63.8 x 108mm) 18-200 (75.5 × 99 mm)
Weight Approx. 345g Approx. 524g

Looks like the 18-200 is slightly shorter but wider than the 55-210. It weighs slightly more by 179g but we have to consider the fact that we eliminated the 18-55 kit lens (194g) in our camera bag.....and less changing of lens.

IMO.. if you want to get the 55-210 to add on your 18-55..
you might as well just buy the 18-200. It still covers the focal length and you dont have to change lens..carry 1 less lens around.
Makes traveling and snapping slightly easier. But its bit more costly.
