No idea when NEX3 is out, but for the dummy NEX3 sets, I find the white one looks v nice.
Just tested the NEX5 after batt charged up

Takes some time to get used to after being very used to Nikon's menu system. Discovered a v tiny stuck white pixel in the corner but since doesn't affect my shots will just bear with it as everything else checks out fine. (What's Sony's policy regarding stuck/dead pixles by the way, does anyone know?)
Some quick impressions:
Build
- Very good build quality overall for the dual lens set
- LCD screen very nice though must be careful how you pull it I feel as the casing for the LCD is fairly thin
- Lenses are all well built and 16mm is very light
- Metal on metal mounts means that eventually the NEX5 mount is going to get some fine scratches over time but I don't think will impact operation
- Flash is tricky to put on in a rush due to the plastic lids. Casing for the flash is nice and has a loop so you can attach it to the strap (if you use the strap : P)
- LED status light of the SD card (I think) is located inside the battery door, a nice touch
- Silver NEX5 is nice ^_^
In operation
- Takes a while to get used to the menu but after 2 hours of fiddling around you get used to it.
- Start up takes ard 1sec+
- if AF illum is on, the focus modes are overidden by this wide bracket AF (which seems to work). Turn off AF and it reverts to the focus state you choose
- Auto ISO is conservative, which is good and maxes out (it seems) at ISO1600, which I like. I find that using Auto ISO is preferable when using the kit zoom
- Focusing is pretty fast, probably as camera is always pre-focusing when its on (not sure if that can be turned off). The CDAF can get confused in focusing a couple of times
- RAW is not accesible for all modes (E.g. the Anti-shake mode only supports Jpeg)
- Camera grip is pretty decent, but you will definately want ot use a strap or at least a wrist strap
- The Dynamic Manual Focus is very good and accurate, more on this later
- Class4 SDHC cards seem to work well and are recommended as printed on the NEX5 box
- Sensor is very exposed when you swap lens. Would definitely be careful when changing lenses in a dusty environment even though the camera has anti-dust mode
- Optical SS works well, prob get 3+ stops advantage
- Its easy to forget that the playback menu is on top : P I have a tendency to hit the menu button instead
- Manual focus damping on the 16mm is very nice, better than the 18-55 feel. The focus by wire feels good
Some tips
- As half-pressing shutter locks both focus and exposure, one way I got around it is to use dynamic manual focus. Use the shutter to lock and use manual focus to refocus. Focus box will autozoom in onto the target which makes manual focusing easy (also due to the 921k screen). The button nearby the top returns to original image. So this will probably help a lot when spot metering.
- To view the firmware version (instead of just v01 in the camera menu), view the exif info of the jpeg in original size. Currently my firmware is shown to be v1.03
Those are my thoughts after 2 hours with the NEX5. Some very basic pics to share below. If anyone has any questions, please do feel free to post or PM me.
Anti shake mode - ISO6400
Auto ISO mode - ISO1600 (N.b - yes the buggy is very dusty : P)
