Hi there and first of all sorry Clunk as i jump into your post..Neway just bought meself a alpha 330 too and wondering whether its a good buy as i was in between an Olympus E650,Canon EOS 500 and Sony Alpha330....after much consideration and thanks for the patience of the staff at MC color and advise...i finally decide to settle on the Alpha330 and being a Sony fanboy helps too in the decision hahahaha. Now yet to play with it as still virgin charging the battery.Any advise from the ol timers Sony users here and what can i do with this camera(honestly iam clueless as first timer here)...my intention of getting a DSLR is to shoot landscape and scenery heavily and the occasional potraits...neway thanks in advance for yer advice and sorry again to clunk...chill ya mate.

And you can imagine in-built PSP in the future...
or SE Walkman Series with Alpha mount (you can mount 70200G in your cellphone)

I can actually imagine a built-in wifi module to automatically send pictures to a PS3 that will add it to a slideshow displaying on Bravia TVs... (fantastic for weddings or events)

welcome to alpha , think you will like it. Wow Darwin ,isn't it a good place for fishing??? I love fishing as well, If possible will go there for fishing trip.:sweatsm:

Hi Kingfishers, yeah Darwin is known for good fishing but you can still have days when you don't get a nibble. More often than not you do get a few good fish, I'm going on a trip to the Vernon Islands (45 km from Darwin) next Saturday, so I might have some shots to put up. If the wind kicks up, may have to rethink destination.
Here is a saratoga I caught at Coroborree Billabong.

hey... dats a very beautiful 'arowana' caught!
Do they have plenty of those there??
Here in Singapore Arowana enthusiast pays hundreds and at times thousands for it!

Anyway nice shoot and thanks for sharing!

Hi Cyberdevil, yeah the freshwater billabongs and dams are full of them, they are a great sportfish especially on fly. They are know as Saratoga here and are a very primative fish and super agressive. If kept in an aquarium they eventually eat everything else in the tank.
I can appreciate the fanciers love of these fish, they are beautiful. There is an unspoken law here in Darwin that if you catch one it must be released as quickly as possible to allow it to fight another day. You must never kill and try to eat one. Fresh water fish in northern Australia tend to taste muddy and are best released.
I'm looking forward to fishing this weekend, first trip out with the a330 in the blue water.
The winds have picked up over the last few days but hopefully it will die off by Sat.

Hi all, wind didn't die off, we got hammered, nearly flipped the boat, lost an expensive anchor. We got a few small fish before the gentlemen in grey suits (sharks) moved in. The trailer winch broke while loading the boat back on the trailer. All in all should have stayed in bed, don't believe all the wonderful fishing stories you hear about Darwin, you can still have some wipe out days. My pc is rocking wildly as I type, oh well thats fishing. I wonder what the tides are next weekend?

My fishing buddy Glenn, nabbed this Golden Snapper fairly early before the wind kicked up. This is at the Vernon Island about 17 km out from Leaders Creek which is an hours drive from home.
