Hi there,

Does anyone here know if Sony services the marine case that they sell for their digital cameras?
The front lens of my marine case has fogged up and all the shots that I take through it have a white cast. I'm still not sure what caused it because I take really good care of it. Very mysterious... still, any info I can get on this will be helpful. Thanks.

Hi, the fogging culd be caused by the camera heat..so i guess can try putting anti-fog..and also a silica gel pack inside the case(jus take caution tat it does not obstruct the o-ring or anything.)

I can only wish it were so. The white cast is PERMANENT and cannot be wiped off :-(

fungus possible?

hmm... care to take a pic of it?
i dunno yr lens port is made of glass element or plastic...
if former, may be stain.. (did u rinse your housing after yr trip?) or maybe fungus as suggested by Dtan?

if latter, cld be u put it under hot sun or wat.. that cause the plastic to have reaction..

yup, likely to be the sun lar... tats y always bring a towel to cover :)

My suggestion would be to call Sony Service Centre in Singapore to enquire about what they can do.

Hey thanks guys. Yeah. I think I COULD have left it in the sun. Its made of plastic. I always rinse it but I guess on the boat trip back, it was somewhat exposed directly to the sun :-( Not very clever..

I've called the service center already and they are checking if it can be replaced.

Thanks everyone!
