Anyone has pre-ordered the 25mm but wishes to get the 85mm instead? I have pre-ordered a 85mm but I want a 25mm instead. We could do an exchange plus top up from me.

Went to major camera shops in germany/Switzerland/london searching for this batis lens..their reply 'this zeiss lens is a problem'

because the waiting list is long and even themselves are probably not very sure when stock will be coming and alot of pressure from the people on waiting list/walk in as well.

that's why. Its a problem.

Did saw a 85mm Batis on display at Yodobashi Osaka when i was there late November. No sign of Batis 25mm though...

I took a risk and ordered from Taobao an 85mm. Ordered on 5th Dec, lens was shipped out on the 8th and I just received it today (17 Dec). Paid $1540 including shipping. Lens was double boxed with styrofoam packing. Arrived in perfect condition. Whew.

Hi. What is the brand and the link you got from TB? I recently saw a report and undercover video of those local china couriers just throw the customers' packages everywhere and even sit on them. So is a risk to buy those fragile items and hope for the best when the shipment arrives to Singapore. Video is attached.

This is the seller I got from. http://world.taobao.com/item/520985899983.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.h8JqOd#detail
Think as long as there are good ratings and past transactions, it should be safe to buy.

As for courier throwing packages around, I am not surprised. Actually I've seen videos of UPS/Fedex automated warehouse where packages drop from a great height in their automated sorting systems. So I am not worried as I think the sellers will be more worried and experienced in shipping out these fragile expensive goods. The Batiss lens was double boxed with styrafoam blocks. The original Zeiss box was in prinstine condition when it came. I've ordered a Zeiss binoculars that was in a hardshell case that was cracked (luckily the binoculars was not damaged) when it arrived from amazon. It was not double box and not as well protected. Still, it came in one piece. I've also ordered from ebay a Zeiss SAL 135mm in the past from hong kong that also arrived safely. So I think it is not an issue if you go with reputable and established sellers.
