that's because they were priced out beyond the reach of most APS-C shooters...

When I was in HK 2 weeks ago, i visited almost all the notable camera shops in Mong Kok, Tsim Tsa Zui, Central and only one reply: Out of stock, please get into the queue

Unlike Touit, there seems to be a large enough a7 user base screaming for those Batises to catch Zeiss and its factories in Cosina Japan totally off their guards. Pre-order couldn't come fast enough......

Actually the reason is because there isn't any telephoto prime with large aperture and AF for the FE series at the moment.
