Been weighing the FE16-35 over a CV12, CV21/1.8 combi, but so far, it seems the CV combi will be more suitable for me.
1. Modular
2. Wider
3. Cheaper
4. Can be used on other cameras (MILC or RF)
5. Fast option with 21/1.8
6. 28-35mm usually prefer faster lens than f4.
AF is a moot point for my use for landscapes.
Seems like the FE16-35 brings to the table AF, EXIF, lightness (but more plastic vs all metal).
Thoughts?

I'm still buying it. sometimes i just want the convenience of zoom and AF when i'm not doing landscapes.
16-35 gives you the zoom ability without having to switch lenses.
e.g a scene will fit nicely at 16mm but with the CV12/21 you have, 12mm will be too wide, 21mm will be too narrow.
sure you can shoot at 12mm and then crop in post to fit the composition, but the perspective will be different and you will lose resolution too.

Personally, I don't believe on one lens fit all or wide angle lens just to do landscape. The 16-35/4 will give you more flexibility on focal length but when light goes down, the 21/1.8 will shine when you are in town. Stop the 21/1.8 down to f4 or f5.6, I don't think the zoom can compare with its resolution and sharpness at those apertures, either. 21mm on FF is also very wide for many landscape scenes. So it becomes a personal choice on how often you are at 16-20mm for landscape to trade off the speed, compactness, quality at f4-f5.6 of the 21/1.8 (not even mention about the ultra wide perspective effect of the 12mm for near subjects as well).
I will not buy this zoom but I can understand many others will! It is also quite obvious that there is a need to fill up all focal range of auto focus native mount lenses to make the system mature!

what if i told you prices don't just magically jump by the hundreds, and that pricing for any product is done after careful consideration instead of just looking at a forum's page to determine selling price.
